I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks to jarance and toyzmech team coz feel free to spend time for us to teach and install the LED...although there is a minor problem occur and sometimes can say "weird" and we somehow rather managed to solved, it is a quite challenging and experienced we learned today. Thank you guys...!!!:top:

Tiring day.

We managed to complete 6 car among ourself.
1. Jeffrey
2. QD250
3. SBB
4. laneza
5. AhBan80
6. Russie

A bit of drama here and there. alignment no good, some have plastic chassis, some have no connection point for power, some have no connection for ground, some have big bezel, some have chrome bezel, some got headlight spray, some have alarm come on, some have relay chatters, some have one led blown after 10 minutes, some have broken clip, some have broken HID bulb, some say E46 LED cannot fit E46 pre-facelift and have to use E36 rings.

Ha.. ha.. real tension when some body car have the relay chatter. signal lamp come on even though switch in neutral position. managed to resolve it after playing with it. The headlamp was for CI version and was fitting with angel eye but using bulb type. The supply dropped when the relay is connected due the LCM ground wire not connected. It must have the supply and return wire all wired up or the relay will chatter. (I am puzzled by this cos other e46 dont have this problem)

Conclusion.
for E36 - just nice but need to cut the silicon to put the ring outside and reseal it back with silicon. Have to use wire to hold the rings as the clip provided is not suitable. The relay and wire wire hardness is not use and supply is tapped from the pilot which is located inside the headlamp.

for e46 pre - facelift original headlight - can use big ring and small ring. However, the big ring for the low beam is slightly obscure by the bezel. If the big is slight smaller by about 3mm, then it would be perfect.

for e46 pre - facelift depo brand headlight - better to use e36 angel eye. the big ring is too big and some led is obscure by the bezel.
note: the small ring is the same size for the e36 ring.

for e46CI pre - facelift eagle eye headlamp - better to use e36 angel eye. the big ring is too big and some led is obscure by the bezel.

for e46 facelift - original headlamp. (Xenon and normal halogen) - it fit nicely using the big rings and small rings.

Hope you guys have fun doing your own DIY. A special thank you to Jeffrey for allowing us to use his brand new workshop and also his foremen to help with the DIY. You guys now have a new place to get oil change using Q8 oil.

To the team who organise this DIY session, well done! :top:

This provides the opportunity for folks who wanted to DIY but no confidence. With this DIY meet, sifu will be around to guide the DIY newbie a trick or two in troubleshooting should anything goes wrong. Difficult to teach or show online because things like screwing, must have feel. Otherwise, you would end up breaking things.. :p :D Sifu will show u how to feel and so forth.

My hats off to jarance for sacrificing his Sunday, all the way from Klang to conduct this DIY meet. More of these is encourages! I guess over the weekend, many has discovered their new found talent and hobby.. :D :top:

I was totally unaware of this meet until I contacted QD and I repeatedly ask who did the fixing and what's the charge... hehe :D still couldn't believe it!

Also a big thank you ToyzMech for offering their place for the meet, not forgetting our founder jeffreyewe :top:

The shop is clean, neat and spacious, just like a pit garage. Took a peek at the back lanes and see plenty of empty beer bottles. Wow! When was the party?

Good job guys!

DIY change engine oil next? If we keep doing this, will probably end up having enough volunteer to run the workshop on weekend and fund our future club house.. :D :D :D
Kudos!

Thank jarance and guys for the DIY session. Really learn and make frens at there. Hope we have another kind like this section..
