E90 parts & maintenance

Just did an intro in the Newbies sec. yesterday.

Been following this thread and had a question: the UDM I am buying has an impeccable service record with AB. The last service done at 685xx km by the previous owner was oil service. The car is now clocked at 702xx KM and when I start it up, the red car icon (not on jack) appears with the words SERVICE underneath. I understand red means that there is service overdue. Called up AB and they said the car needs to undergo inspection. What do you experts think? What is the indicative service required at this mileage? It's an e90 320i CKD (2009 LCI).

Thanks!

Did the SC indicate the service charge? and what needs to be changed?

SC said they don't know, they say that the indicator means that the car needs a routine inspection - that's it.

If no major issues, shoudl be regular service on that mileage. That is for my car E90 ( LCI ) 2009
On 2nd thoughts, 2000km different, why need service again ?

Hi guys,
Just want to share my service info and need some valuable feedbacks from SIFUSS!!

E92/325/Msport 2007/Recond UK specs.
Service at - M speed (USJ Ah MenG) @ 37K km
Oil change with ROWE fully synthetic only RM450 - took less then 15 mins.

Just a few question:
1.When do they change the oil filter?what intervals
2.How often do v service our Beemers as going through this thread, Some say every 10 k and other 25 k...what is recomended? Coz every 2 months plus i hit
10 k :-(.
3.My recond unit came with a battery size 60 and ah meng from m speed recommended i change it to minimum 80? I dont have i drive and it coz around rm600-700 for the battery. Sifus input?
4.Spark plug change interval?
5.One last question, i sometimes get a lagging acceleration when i accelerate for instance coming out from a junction....is this norm?

Hope u guys could help out?

Just loving every cent i poured into my Beemer!!! :p'''

DrD,

1. 10k km or every oil change.
2. 10k km or lesser depending on usage and type of engine oil used.
3. Our battery should be 90~95AH
4.The CKDs are equipped with NGK Iridium which recommends a life of over 100k km. Just follow the OBC because there's a spark plug replacement alarm when due. For CBU, no idea what you are using.. normal copper and platinum plugs recommended 20k km change interval by Toyota.
5. Sorry no idea..

Battery is due for changing soon. 4 yrs

My previous E46 325i battery (ori) lasted me 6 years. I would expect the E90 batt to last just as long too.

Hi 3er, when did you decide to change yours? one fine day when the car cannot start or weak engine starting?

That was my previous car. I changed it just before the 6th year. No symptoms. Batt was still ok. I changed it as preventative maintenance - so i dont get a dead batt one morning. If it makes you feel more comfortable you better change it earlier.

My E46 original battery also lasted for 6.5years. I also changed it to avoid a sudden dead battery event.

My e46 original battery also lasted for 6 years. I have noticed before the battery died, some times the door lock didn't work when you press the key to unlock or lock or only unlock the driver door but not the rest of the doors.
