An almost complete replacement of suspension wear and tear parts by Ah Meng at MSpeed, on Wed 02 Feb, 2005. This is the first time all the suspension parts are being replaced. I am trying to maintain close to stock comfort. The bilsteins feel hard now, didn't want to go with Sachs as I have been told they go soft within a year. The car has done 110,000km at the moment, but I thing the shocks started to 'ta pau' at about 90,000kming. Will let the shocks settle in for a couple of days before doing an alignment and balancing.

Fuel pump = RM630
Used to be in the RM500+ region but the hike in Euro rate pushed the price up. Although I was spared the heartache of needing to cough out that much money for the pump, I thought I'll just share here the price of that thing which was quoted to me.

I got my fuel pump for around RM400 plus about 2 years back. What to do lah....

Bimmer suck petrol and it suck my blood too.. :nyehehe:

is there any tell tale sign b4 fuel pumps goes kaput? like a buzzing or high pitch sound etc

I remember 2 mths ago, I noticed that buzzing noise arised underneath the rear passager seat every time I start the car and Its gone in 15 ~ 20sec.

I knew that the noise was came from the fuel pump. Some clubmember has been put up this thread in the old club forum b4 and I also consulted specialist when this abnormality occured.

He suggested:
1) to change the pump now.
2) drive until not function.

I choose the 2nd option cos not willing to spend $$ so fast and I knew the procedure to replace the fuel pump as well in case of breakdown. So just took the risk and wait until it 'kong'.

Click to fuel pump replacement:

http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/techarticl...6-Fuel-Pump.htm

workshops quoted RM550 ~ RM600 to replace included labour.

Try on it (DIY) if u wish to save $$.

I took 30mins to complete. :D

Affan, how come so cheap? Earlier when I wanted to replace my fuel pump as well, I was quoted in the region of RM600.

dvng mentioned his second hand one costs him RM300 already.

Now I am confused as to why there is such a huge discrepancy in terms of the pricing.
