danpromote where did you buy the k&n filter izit the drop in type cheap la eunos selling at 270 after discount , mind sharing

vincent I bought it through my co. coz we get dealer pricings for some parts... but u can also get it cheap from Rosedi Autosports (supplier for OMP products) they're clearing off stocks now I think only RM200 if still available. Mine is the replacement type.

Or if u don't mind slightly used for a few days I wanna try something different (open pod) so can let mine go for RM200.

DanPromote,

How does it feel when u add the Pivot Stabilizer? Any difference? I'been thinking 2 get 1 oso.....

A bit too early to tell for me coz I haven't installed the grounding wires yet, will know more once I've installed them and taken some mileage tests. So far no noticable difference.

Bro ...

The maintenance of your car will entirely depend on the age and the way it was maintained previously to be determined.

IMHO try to get one that has been cared for . And preferebaly with full service history .

cheers :D

You would be referring to the M43 type engine (yr1995 - 1999). A reasonably cared-for M43 shouldn't cost you much on maintenance and the frequency for regular maintenance is about 15,000km (can travel 3x further than japanese cars until the next service). Being a supposed "luxury" marque, the parts GENERALLY (though not always true) may seem to be a tad more expensive than japs or local cars. It will be a good indication on how much parts costs by browsing through this e36 maintenance thread and compare them with those of your current ride, bearing in mind the parts do last long. So, if you don't have to replace parts every month, your maintenance bills should be within your capability to keep the car running smoothly. Hopefully this gives you a little more confidence in taking the plunge into owning a Bimmer.

There is supposedly a maintenance schedule (which alternate Service 1 and Service 2, the latter being relatively more expensive) but I don't follow it and only change parts when they are due/worn.

However , i was quite surprised when i got this figure .

It's still the UDM !! :D

Installed my goodies bought in Singapore today at M-Speed.

1. wide-angle side mirror glass
2. charcoal fuel filter
3. power steering filter
4. headlight covers

Paid some $$ for labor and diagnostic for the ABS fault check below-
Error was "brake pedal travel sensor." Light off and on during driving. Next start it goes off. Very intermittent. Hope it's not the pump. I seldom use the ABS.

Rebuilt gearbox - 5000
Radiator (Behr) - 1000

Like everybody says, at 150,000 kms - the GM 4 speed auto goes crunch.
You can get it done cheaper, but since it's out and apart you just might as well recondition the whole thing.

2. Bosch Spark Plug (Platinum) - RM38 each - RM228
3. Oil Filter - RM 45
