I have exactly that and am planning to install it next to the DSC button when the center console is removed to install the reverse camera.

If anybody is interested, you can try out centrafuse for 30days, download here http://www.centrafuse.com/Downloads.aspx

I have open the DSC console and there is a module behind the panel instead of just push button.

Let me dig my file and show you what I mean.

Here are the pictures.

3M Vikuiti supposedly good for screen with glare as it reduces reflection, read more here http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Vikuiti1/BrandProducts/main/productliterature/productinformation/?PC_7_RJH9U5230GE3E02LECFTDQ8KB7_nid=RW0ZMH842Pbe0H01CMQK62gl. I've never used it before so can't comment on the effectiveness, review hasn't been so helpful either.

I don't know if we can find it locally but I found it online here http://www.cartft.com/catalog/il/937

Thanks for this, I thought the back of it is hollow.

Thanks for link.. thought can get it locally. You try first and let me know of the outcome..

I also thought the DSC button was hollow as well. As you see the DSC and Shade button are located on the wrong side or further away from the driver. Thought i could reverse it to be nearer the driver but gave up after I open the module.

for the older model with DTC, the button is only one piece and is hollow. I saw that on Thomas E46/Lifestyle.

Ok will let you know when I have it then..

Good to know this, mine is just ASC and the cheapo LED next to it, hoping that the rear is hollow. If not need to put it at the cupholder area.

If yours is ASC, then it is OK.

The left side is hollow.

Walauwei... bro, wa kompom sama lu, sapa yg da wat retrofit satnav sebelum ni, kompom terasa rugi giler.. furthermore when they comparing the cost amount of this project :deal:..

I knew it!!! because I'm one of them!!! :damnmate:

Thanks guys, any comments are appreciated.

Fireuz, this may look cheaper but some may not want to go through the hassle to bring such thing up. For me and for some, the preference would be doing it instead of just throwing money at the problem. But of course on the things that you know how to and can do.. And the factory satnav has its goods compared to this like still be able to use the glovebox? A luxury lost in my implementation. And computer startup time from hibernation

Cheers

Thanks Aidil, mine was attempted many years ago. Its still running in my E36.
I still have the project photos up at http://www.nusantech.com/iride

Looking good Aidil, have you got a radio yet? DVD?

Rudy thanks.

No radio yet but low priority since I don't listen to it. But here are some supported radio modules by centrafuse.

- Ultimate DAB / FM Radio - Supports DAB / DAB+ / FM w/RDS
- HQCT (High Quality Car Tuner)
- RadioXtreme USB
- D-Link DSB-R100
- Silabs USB Radio
- ADS Technologies InstantFM USB Radio

No plan for an optical drive right now. If you have radio module to disown let me know.

Cheers

its not the software that's of primary concern.
the biggest problem with the radio is the reception.

The best radio modules I have found originated from xtronics.be, they have receptions that equal the stock radio and can be controlled thru software. Unfortunately the price is on the high side.

I think you are referring to this one. For $159 it is pretty steep

But couldn't be worse than this for $29

Jarance, your car seems to have the blinds button, doesn't it help to reduce the glare? From the driver seat it seems that most glaring light comes from the rear window.

try that as well. It reduce some glare but somehow it did not help.
Anyway, can be driving with blind up all the time. (against the law)

I managed to divert the glare to the top part of the screen by tilting the display forward.

Good job Aidil..do some demo if we able to meet up sometime..Kudos
