Google and found out that this indicates for tropical countries
cars , quite a number of cooling system components are
different.
Will consider buying BMW MY premium selection cars if budget

electronic not covered
only engine and gearbox the rest all NO NO. So u spend few hundred K , end up got issue cannot do anything , and you cannot claim warranty from BMW malaysia , even its BMW . also when you drove out from the dealer i can be sure 95% of all the grey millage are fake. my last e60 claim 30KM but when check its 110KM . so u pray nothing is spoilt.
the only benefit i can think of grey are
1. low interest ( brand new car interest ) , you save here u pay your mechanic more and more parts
2. your own number plate .
3. since warranty dun have , can mod it immediately.
even PREOWN BMW from local dealer are better imho at least the service record do not lie.
and some GREY 535 / 523 spec are horrible compare with local , before f10 all grey e60 spec are better than local. but nowdays the otherway round . i saw a 523i that day using halogen light no xenon, no led angel eye.

That is why i am considering car that is less than 2 years old only.
Searched some UK used car sites , figured average mileage should be max 40k miles (60km)
but who knows !!!! This people just dare to do anything.

Took a look at a BMW MY Premium Selection 535i today. :top:
515K !!! :frown: Out of budget.
Although car was reged dec-2011 but it should be manufactured before mar-2011
as it does not has Instrument Display with Full Black out extended display. (Nice to have)
ie Mazda CX-7 has this but BMW much better :rock:

Comfort Seats - GREY does not has this
Confort Access - Some GREY has this
Surround View - Does not have but some GREY has.

Between UK and Japenese spec 535i, which one would you guys choose ?
There is some Japenese 535i out there but I am concerned whether the GPS can work even though its a CIC.

pissed off , since i know the AP boss , call him and tiu 99 , they say will change the component but on 50/50 basis i pay the remainder 50% , when bill come one of the light bulb blow at RM 3 only also put under my "50%" conclusion before beli from GREY everything ok , best blah blah , after beli , boss will tell u no margin etc etc, car was left there for few week so making loss cannot this and that. ALL BS.
my sis brought her 1st 2nd hand BMW car in UK, it come with 2/3 year warranty covered by the sales company if anything got problem she can change to another car FOC and even electronic or mirror spoil also covered. now when she brought her 118D Coupe from BMW Direct 1st hand , it come full warranty even tire !.
in malaysia GREY the other way round , the so call add on insurance for warranty cover engine and mechanical. if IDRIVE kaput , they consider under AV , F10 have too much electronic nowdays , especially when you say HUD , ADaptive drive etc etc. not mistaken HUD if replace outside on your pocket easy 10 ~ 20k , all the "gadget" replacement cost money, if really want to buy Grey , get basic version less problem in long run.
thats why i scare of grey now all my current car are from principal direct . got problem call the SA or Service center , cannot i have right to tiu them 99 , if grey u call BMW also no use. they charge you FULL Rate , not even goodwill discount.
when got recall for product update all FOC , sending my wife mitsubitshi ASX to service center next week since got letter say power steering may be faulty if use too long under vibration , they will replace foc. if u buy grey you have to pay parts and labour.
trust me the feeling of spending few hundred K on a car and the grey mechanic say "macam itu punya" vs my recent purchase " no issue sir , this is not a cheap car will get it rectify " 2 different world of attitude. the grey mechanic will tell you they get paid only few hundred buck to service the car before delivery .

Will be very expensive to retrofit as not many people know how to do this.
They do not have passkey (ETC) for BMW E-Sys tools which is needed to code Fxx series cars.
One more thing , make sure car has Integral Active Steering + Variable Damper Control.
Not all car has these. Cant determine by looking at control buttons in car.
Only way to know is to check VIN.
Not worth to buy car that does not has above even it is 300k.
CANNOT BE RETROFIT.

so if you search you can find but the MHZ all wrong, the problem with JAP BMW is their receiver is different from eu spec.
unlike jap car maker , which make it export ready.
the BMW jap spec are localization for JAPAN customer.
anyway i think i have that fm piggyback thinngy in my store if any one want it i look for it and you can collect from me, FOC since it be paperweight in my store .
