yeah..since mt is not applicable here..see the result minus the MT.
The only thing that is currently personally lacking to me in the F30 models here in Malaysia in general is the suspension. No availability of electronically adjustable suspension and we are still waiting for the M-Sport version. But at the end of the day, I tend to gravitate toward the feel of the pull of the 3.0 litre twin turbo especially at higher speeds. More so for me since the diesel runs out of breath rather quickly haha.

Its very close on a rolling run. The Golf R has more advantage from a standstill tho, perhaps from the AWD traction and DSG. On a rolling run, the AWD on the Golf R contributes to drive train drag. Bottom line is the 328i is no slouch!

Its ok, once upon a time, Ryou was dreaming of the Golf R hehehe :p

ya la..waited SOOOO BLARDY long for VW malaysia to bring in...in the end gave up waiting and got the 335i..thank god....i am very happy with my e92.

anyway..i have to edit my 1st post. All the driving i did was PJ/KL. Today i took the 328i to Raub via Karak highway (i do this trip at least once a month for work, normally in my 335i) and the 328 really shined. Exactly like that pro driver reviewed, because the car is lighter, alot less mass going to corners....i could brake later and the car felt alot more nimble then my 335i, so i managed the exact same time with the 328i vs my 335i, even though i was in a unfamiliar car. Meaning i can match another driver of equal skill if he were to take a 335 and i take the 328 and route is Karak Highway :) The equation just got more difficult

But one thing still bugs me..although the time is the same, the roar of the I6 still wins hands down...at overtaking speeds, the 328 just doesnt sound nice...and CONFIRMED there was cost cutting by BMW, the e92 is alot more solid and less prone to scuttle...take a look at a E9x windshield wiper holder, see how its a solid piece of cast metal...then look at a F30 and how flimsy it is. The E92 is very composed the entire way, but i fel judders and shakes with the 328 which i had never felt in the 335 b4

We r having a weekend run to karak this sunday, Will do some 'test' with my slightly modded 335 vs some f30 328s that will b present. A very adventorous red stock 335 will also b there 2 compare.

"slightly" modded..? :thefinger:

People who drive e92 335i's are usually very modest............... till the moment they flaw the pedal ;)

Had difficulty keeping up with a stock 328 on karak. Probably driver rather than d car was d problem. V try do a quarter mile run yah M this sunday. No driver skills involved, c how d cars compare.

My baby 1997cc against your "slightly" modded beast?.. aiyyoo, forgone conclusion lo

But u got me curious.. so just did a quick search for some drag data. Here are ProfessCars simulation data for 1/4 mile times:
F30 328 8-A - 13.8s
F30 328 6-M - 13.8s
E92 335 6-A - 13.8s
E92 335 6-M - 13.3s
E92 335 7-DCT - 13.2s
F30 335 6-M - 13.4s
F30 335 8-A - 13.3s

Clearly 335 is faster.. even without the various "slight" mods.. :burnout:

V will b rational, n karak kuantan bound is safer, It is only kl bound that s a lot more dangerous. V will cap d return trip at 130kmh 4 safety.

Hard 2 believe a stock 2007 335 has d same times as a 328 but true. 300bhp vs 240bhp. 0 to 100 5.6 vs 6.1. 3000cc vs 2000cc

Good review, being very subjective here....but E92 335i hands-down.....puts a smile on the face everytime you open throttle up...:burnout:

btw on my way back yesterday, they have closed off 1 lane for most of the way to kuantan, looks like major drain/side barrier works. And yes, Kuantan ->Kl is dangerous like hell, especially that off camber tightening corner after the tunnel, especially if wet, traction control always comes on for me that corner

its not the car that lets you go fast in karak, its balls and experience, almost every trip, i give way to Satrias and Sagas, with C plates, they regularly hit 150+ and dont brake at any of the corners, dun know how they do it, considering thier foot must be flat on the accelerator

Wah u guys are speed demons! I rarely get the chance to go drive on those heavenly roads.Sure kena smoke by u guys kau kau hehehe
