If you want want respect.... EARN IT!!!!!! How? For a start, Dress approriately (note: got nothing to do with expensive)

This is very TRUE. We need to EARN the respect. Not only on how we dress, it is also on our attitude, character, etc.

Back to the topic, IMO, at this price, A4 2.0T Quattro is definitely a good buy. Good choice bimmer818 :top:

Fabian, thanks for the links. I am fully aware of EM's past, present and their Vision for the future as the CEO has explained everything yesterday when I went to test drive the Quattro.

Whatever said, at the end of the day, I am very impressed with the Quattro's performance and not worried about after sales service or parts. It comes with warranty for the first couple of years anyway.

If the CEO delivers what he has promised, I could only see a good future for Audi as a brand in Malaysia and for existing owners.

By simply comparing against my E46 323i, the power and handling of the Quattro is superlative. In fact, sitting here, I am just looking forward to Monday when I can be behind the wheels of the Quattro again.

My buddy has just managed to arranged for me to test drive the 325i sport on Saturday at Auto Bavaria Segambut. Let's see what happens. But at this moment, it could well be the Quattro booking come Wednesday.

Want to test drive on Wednesday before I return the Quattro?

If you can read the link I posted, the gripes from the Club Audi M'sia members are on how the brand is being handled by Euro Mobil under DRB Hicom... Citing lack of appetite for sales, archaic marketing direction bla bla bla.. They are handling the premium brand like they have been doing with Proton and other brands in hand..

The thing about big majority of car salesperson in Malaysia is that they are not enthusiast. They hardly know much about the car they are selling. They don't expect buyers to ask technical questions, and when they do encountered such questions, they either goreng with wrong facts or go 'ee ee ahh ahh'...
No doubt there would be some good salesperson with sound product knowledge but these are usually the 'minority'.

Read this experience from club Audi members going to both Audi and BMW showroom for test drive.

Apart from being a salesperson cum enthusiasts, most of them are merely cari makan. Who cares about investing in techical knowledge especially if the person already covered the sales quota for the month. For all you know, the same salesperson will jump ship into BMW. And, the same story continues.
Apart from this, another area that Audi went really wrong is that the way the position the product in the market. Take for example the A4 2.0 Quattro. All of us know that import duty is based on cubic capacity, not horsepower. How can they position the car to compete head on with BMW 325 in terms of pricing? The A4 2.0 quattro should be positioned along the 320i. Because of this, I wouldn't say the A4 2.0 is a good buy. It's overpriced. But, it is indeed a better car.

Was not intending to sabo your A4 Quattro purchase, just want to share with you on what I read from the VAG forum...
The A4 Quattro is indeed a good car.. and the bunch of guys from the audi club are nice fellas... Went for their TT, join them for drives and parties.. Last went with them to Belum Rainforest last june with about 10 cars from Spore, a total of about 20-25 cars..

Thanks for the offer for the test drive.. haha.. U know I have no qualm taking up the offer.. My office in Kelana only.. Not far from yours (if you haven't moved).

Fabian,

PM your mobile and I will give you a call before I return the car to EM. I am no longer in Kelana as my present work is playing golf and travelling (retired or too old to be employed!) but not a problem for me to drive to Kelana.

I am not worried about after sales service as my present mechanic friend is very familar with this car. For parts, I can always source from Singapore or directly from Germany.

I experienced the same too, dressed in round neck t-shirt, shorts and slipper, my wife and I went to Audi Glenmarie. Nobody entertained us or even looked at us. Only when I walked out to my 525 parked outside, I saw a salesman at the entrance tried to approach me, too late.

When to Porsche Glenmarie later, even though we know the price is much higher than Audi, but the sales person there even answered all the questions, and gave me the quotations, no problem. (May be coz I parked my car outside the showroom).

Went to BMW Glenmarie later, just wanted to have a look at new Z4, not even planned for test drive. I parked my car next door. One sales supervisor, Ken Chong, came and approached us. Even offered a test-drive without us asking for that. It was on Saturday, nearly 6pm and he still entertained us. No plan to buy new Z4 as I was in love with Cayman S.

Know what? 3 days later, I met him and placed my deposit for Z4.

I still believe the product can't be sold by itself, it is customer service.

Ken is one of the better Sales Advisors in Glemnarie.

Hardworking and knowledgable as well :)

Today,I visited EM's Hangar again..was in my office attire as I had just attended a meeting in SZB.

Again,I was virtually invisible to all the salesperson there.Only the receptionist that had noticed me gave me a smile and a'good afternoon sir'..that was it! As I was looking at the cars,I noticed some of the salesperson actually made eye contact inadvertantly..and quickly broke the eye contact again as if it didn't happen.

So I took my time to enjoy the A4 2.0t..then went over to the two R8s.Still,no one cared.

Then I saw one smartly attired chinese elderly gentleman enter the showroom shadowed by a salesperson who then entertained the said person.Very attentive indeed then...in fact, they were joined by another salesperson who was earlier lounging behind his desk with nary a care in the world.I guess some people's money are more valueble then others huh? Selective treatment to customers? Begs some very serious questions..

Suffice to say that would be my last visit to that place..they just don't deserve my money anymore, bunch of sods.

Quite sad..cuz Audi makes such great cars nowadays. But while they are sold by incompetent fools,I won't touch the brand.
