It's safe if, you...!! I mean ..!!you alone driving ur car!! B) cos there'll be a lot of "cikopek" will try to impress you by saying he is a rally driver la..drive what car la..then he can show you what he can do with ur car la..all those bullshit. then whack the shit out of ur car...!!

I suggest you take a Taxi ride with in Eeric's car then ask for advise...He is good...you'll know what I mean by then.

It's not racing...just drive ur own pace lor..!!

By all mean... I dun want to whack ur car..! I got my own old junk to whack!!! hehe..

Safe is how you want it to be....

1. Hitch rides from those who have driven on the track before.
2. Go onto the track when the fast fast cars have done their laps and cooling down in the pits (with the hood up).
3. Take few average-pace laps to familiarise yourself, preferably with someone in the passenger seat who knows the track layout...
4. When you see faster cars approaching on the straightfrom behind, signal and move away from the racing line to let them past..
5. when u are about to enter corner and u notice fast coming car, if you have time to move away from racing line, do so safely. If not, stay on the racing line and go on your pace (but don't be too slow lar) and don't let the pressure crack u. Move away after the corner. Road surface off the racing line tend to be less grippy, so directional change while cornering is definitely not a wise move...
6. As for those 'faster' cars from the club, when u see cars taking corner, don't stay too close behind. if the front car loses control, u'll still have time to slow down and react accordingly. In short, DON'T TIONG in the corner.
7. Don't do more than 5 full-out laps at a go. tyres will get greasy when it's too hot. Brakes start to fade. and your body needs a rest too...


So it's safe but then you are the one in control, it's you who could make it safe or dangerous.

Which incidentally is a reminder:

In general, if accident hapens on track, normally your insurance will NOT cover. So, be forewarned.

So, if you borrow aunties or daddys car, perhaps you ought to consider the situation very, very carefully.

That's why I mention taxi rides and oso an ad-hoc coach for familiarisation... But of cos, can't absorb so many things in that short span of time... So have to 'guna otak' and not 'ikut perasaan' when going on track... Be alert and keep a lookup for fast coming cars all the time...

Sorry to kepoh here a bit cos I wun be joining but here's a tip I learnt on overseas track days.......

Please turn on your lites when you are on your HOT laps....so the cars ahead can see what mode u r on ( from the mirrors ).....this of course works on basis that you do 3 hot laps and one laps each for warming up & cooling down respectively....5 laps in total! ( good amount & for correct reasons as Fab mentioned )

Also please turn OFF lites during your cooling down lap!

Not sure if timing equipment ( transponder ) is available for hire......makes it more worthwhile & SAFER to for all! ( less wheel to wheel dicing, just laptime shootout.....)


Have SAFE fun.....just my 2 kupangs!
