Saw a post in the LYN forums and thought I'd share it here.Driver/Owner's original post - see pg2 onwards for post crash posts.The driver had only owned the car for 3 days when it happened. Driver is still in coma, while his gf had recovered apparently.All I can say is... wtf was he thinking??? - notice the speed limit sign!(4/12/07 - KTRK/HOUSTON) - A teen driver is in critical condition after an accident which police say may have been the result of street racing. In the end, the car was split in two.The two vehicles that police say were street racing were heading north on Kirby near San Felipe. Authorities say it was a Nissan vehicle and a BMW involved in the incident. At some point, the Nissan driver lost control and struck a tree, splitting the vehicle in two. A male and female were pinned inside that vehicle. The female was taken to the hospital. She's expected to be OK. Authorities say the male was taken to the hospital with serious head injuries. "At some point, the Nissan lost control, left the roadway, striking two trees and pinning both occupants in the vehicle," said Capt. Milton Martin with the Houston Police Department. "The BMW left the scene." Police say it was a grey BMW, but didn't have a more detailed description of that vehicle. Witnesses say the BMW driver left the scene before an EMS crew arrived.
