Maybe they are on anti-theft tint film.. :(

Yes, confirm its an E46, Sin Chew paper has a top view of the car, I can see the ventilation grill on the bonnet near the windshield, uniquely available for the E46 model.

The side impact on the driver side is very serious and that's where the driver's leg got caught and unable to get out.

I seldom use that stretch of the road for 2 reasons:

1. avoid toll..
2. always confuse which toll both to use, one to TmnTun and one to SS2, so I go very slow on the corner..

Spilling petrol over heated exhaust is certainly a recipe for disaster, plus the trapped passenger. Its plain death trap!

The report only says passenger trapped but dunno what trap, door cannot open? window cannot break? limbs caught?

Takziah to the family.
A reminder to all of us to be careful when driving.

Btw. Rachel, the accident 10 years ago ... all are girls right?
I think one of them is the only child of a friend of mine ...

First of all - my sincere condolences to family. Tragic ending to a likely happy outing...

3am, 3 men and a 3 series.......well it could have been anyone of us. Speeding and dare I say alcohol? ( give him a hammer, also....zzz ) Well u judge for urself and LEARN FROM THIS!

We can all blame the road, blame the car but in the end, its the driver who choose what speed you want to be at, at what location. The throttle works both ways and its your call. If you are not familiar with the road....SLOW DOWN.

Its your life, your family - so drive accordingly to suit the road conditions, car handling and most of all, your safe driving experience.

Need I say more? Mod the driver, dun ever mod your car performance! Brembo brakes? Why? Ur tyres how?

Sigh. Drive well, my dear friends.

Btw - I drive this road daily and find it ok so maybe I am a slow driver in comparison to many of you. Peace of mind for me lor...

RIP dudes .... also no brembo's as Rambo's ( tow truckers ) would had spill some oil at the strech too ... can happen to anyone ...

drive safely with appropriate speed is the best ....

takziah..

i believe the E46 is newly bought by the deseased driver...about 2weeks..and i dont think he has been familiarized with the machine....
Moral of the story, do not speed if you dont even knows your car behavior...not just yet. because UDM design is different wth our local cars and Japs...driving style n car behave different!!

I wonder if the DSC was off.. unless there are contacts before hitting the rail like the Diana Princess's case..

What Jules said is very true, SLOW DOWN! I know... its easier said than done.. :( Btw, I just got my 2nd speeding tickets this year.. :(

i tried locking a honda, toyota, proton & mercedes benz with its remote and all could be opened from the inside either by pulling the door lever or unlock button. but in my e60 (and i assume every other BMW) i couldn't open even though the lock button is raised fully when door lever is pulled. in an event of an accident (even minor one), there is a high chance that the electronics will screw up therefore preventing you from unlocking & escaping the vehicle. now this is getting me worried...and why has BMW designed their cars in such a way? why?

Deepest Condolences to the family...

thats very sad and hurting...brought the car for few mth n ......

may them rest in peace...

there is a deadlock feature in bmws that does this. as far as i know the deadlocks only become active if you use your remote to lock the car.

My condolences to the deceased's family & friends. Btw, the driver happens to be the best friend of my colleague's husband. She had mentioned the whole chronology of events to me & it was just so pitiful. Apparently, they had just concluded a TT session together at some mamak joint. What tragic & traumatizing finale. R.I.P.

For the E46, those who experience a ZKE module failure know what to do.

Only the the driver side door can be opened and if that door is crushed... aiyoo....

For E46 328i no DSC yet. Only traction control - ASC+T. I think in 2002/2003 was when they introduced DSC to the lineup here.

The DSC is just an enhance version of the ASC+T, which itself is Automatic Stability Control + Traction while DSC is Dynamic Stability Control consolidated with Dynamic Traction Control, All-in-one.

i got a............ low tech traction control/abs/dsc in my car......they grow old with me cos they are my butt, hands and legs - so i learn to respect the road rather rely too much on electronics!

YOU ALL learning anything here??
