guys, better install 2 layers (tint and anti-smash) if your wife or gf will drive it. Few of my friends (all F10 but mixture of 523i and 520d), got window smashed and bags/things taken. All when their wife/gf is driving. U know la, they will put their bags on the passenger seat.

Sometime I think its better to just drive a smaller car... less attention and not worrying too much..! argghhh... :vollkommenauf:

But one thing to consider about the security tint film is when the car involved in certain kind of accidents.. the window might not be broken but it will be somehow difficult to get out from the car if we could not open the door... huh..!

was told that the main reasons why front and back window need not have security film are due to TAG, study shown it is less prone to robber smashing it, and to kick ourself out if trapped. I mean, who in the world has the energy or skill to break those windows. Moreover with tint, it itself has certain level of security making it hard to break.

Does anybody know whether the 3M Crystalline 50 will not cause any trouble with JPJ / poliss? :smokin:

I am slightly leaning towards 3M now.. probably will get it done in TTDI branch as well..

I don't think there are 100% guarantees as to they will for sure pass JPJ roadblocks. It's just a calculated risk you're taking the moment you decide to tint. It's Malaysia we're living in, so do you think those chaps will let a fine car like yours just get away easy?

Huper Optik anti smash film is not so good. I need to remove it because it looks like stain that cannot dry. So, change to normal one eventually.

What do you mean it's Malaysia we're living in?.you break the law knowingly and those chaps are just doing their job.In the eyes of the law you the giver of bribes are no different than the taker. Those chaps probably think you are big time pirate dvd peddler in your fine car..

Couldn't agree more. My wife VW just got smashed few days ago next to KLCC (Jln Binjai) at the traffic light...... Her bag was under the passenger seat but those guys were skillful.

What is the good brand for anti- smash ? Just add on another layer to the existing one?

would it be too thick if you add the second layer for the the windows to fold up/down??

me too have the same doubt, esp if u used those thicker security film... and u add another layer on top somemore... the motor of the windows will have some hard time moving up and down...

if both adds up to thickness of 6mm, no issue. Did for 2 of my cars, no problem so far.

MIne is COOLTINTZ, 8mm on the side, no problem with the power window. I think it is the thickess and toughest around. that's what i requested, the toughest anti smash

Have tried all kind of tint... Huper is the best so far on one of my cars. Will change the v-kool on the other car to Huper soon. Did mine at CV Damansara Jaya.

Under the passenger seat? Is there any possible way for the robbers to see it or is it totally hidden from view?
Do you think you can elaborate a little? It'll help people be more aware of the danger..

I think V-kool is more expensive. Currently leaning towards 3M Crystalline.. Seeking advice from the lads where best place to fit it though.. still unsure.

It seems that v kool has much problem with smart tag vs huper optic is better another alternative. I'm thinking to get 6mil huper

i think both are great, but we just need to find the right place to install it..
