Unique Driving Habits

This is not exactly an unique driving habit but today, while sitting in a jam, I observed there is a mug on the dashboard, in the car next to me!!

I thought soft toys, solar-powered moving toys or those Ferrari small scale cars are the norm, but mug?

MUG????? Haha. Driver probably needed a dose of caffeine in case he/she might fall asleep at the wheel. Amazing stuff man, first time heard about mug being placed on the dashboard.

that mug will be a projectile shot at the occupants should the car be rear-ended.

A car is a car. You don't go around and decorate it with household stuffs... amazing la. When I saw the mug, my first reaction was WTF...

Another pet peeve....those cars that tag closely behind an ambulance squezzing between 2 rows of cars especially during traffic jam....what are they thinking???

Always the norm especially along Jalan Tun Razak...

Or just in case you are stuck in a traffic jam and need to pee.

Salut

Just wanted to share an observation when I was travelling to Cyberjaya last night.

Not once but twice that I saw cars actually going up the opposite direction on the ramps heading towards the new flyover linking to Puchong/Cyberjaya. It's the new flyover after the Cyberjaya toll on ELITE.

I know one happened at around 9:30pm, and the other, slightly before midnight, but seriously, driving on the wrong side of a ramp to head back onto the flyover????

First culprit I spotted was a Saga BLM which had the nerve to drive back towards the ramp, and the second was a black Waja airport taxi who was tailing a lorry before suddenly jamming brakes and making a u turn on the left to head up the ramp. Geez. Come on la...

What the hell is wrong with these guys? :stupid:

i just passed one yesterday as well, an idiotic starex was reversing on the emergency lane of the DUKE - at around 630pm.
i cannot comprehend the stupidity of these people, putting not only their lives but others in danger on the road too.

I remembered posting a remark earlier this year about reversing cars on highways.

Users of LEKAS towards Kajang will be aware that upon the end of LEKAS, there's a slight drop under the flyover to SILK, those who want to head to Mines will usually keep towards the rightmost 2 lanes, whilst the left lane will fork to rejoin SILK and Kajang.

Since the drop is akin to a blind spot, there was actually one occasion when a car actually reversed all the way from the bottom of the hill towards the top to join the left lane... Seriously, what if a speeding car was using the middle lane then??? :stupid:

One more thing if we beeped any cars in Msia, sounds like we're asking for a fight with them...always return back with middle finger or lansi face worst case they chase u back...unlike other countries, horn is used to communicate with other vehicle, even to say 'thank you' also they beeped other cars...haiissshhh

Another unique driving habit: creative queue jumper. Happen on the kesas ramp, turning into summit, if you're coming from KL. I've personally experienced like 4 lanes of cars on a marked 2 lane road.

The same can be seen on the kesas ramp turning into puchong......queue jumping as if it is their "birth-right"....

That's why I usually wave my left hand or right so that the driver which gave way could see me thanking him.

Like you said, honking would probably give out wrong signals.

But well, queue jumpers... Seriously, Malaysia boleh!

Jumping queue is so ingrained in Malaysian drivers until that they feel no remorse for it. And if you don't let these queue jumper in, they'll honk and tailgate you.

Ah well, I suppose we're quite unique in the way we drive. I still don't get it why motorists never stop at pedestrian crossings, unlike other places overseas.

And on another unrelated note, I do have a pet peeve of people actually crossing busy roads... I mean, Federal Highways especially near the Sunway bridge... Last time used to be dangerous la, but now since the KL-bound side is 'perennially' jammed, I guess jaywalkers will only have issues navigating the Klang-bound side... :stupid:

If the road you mention that i think which one is, that one not yet officially open for public. Vehicle travelling on wrong lane is common sight, day or night. If it not the road i think the one you mention, sorry, my mistake.

....not a driving habit but I really hate those brakes that blink especially at night, feel like flashing my lights everytime it blinks. Another one is those nuts who have white lights as signal lights...As for hazard lights I personally saw an accident that happened bcos of the confusion, to me a hazard light is to be used when a car is stationery, when u have two rules to it then this is what will happen, this happened just before the duta toll, the car on my right slammed into a stationery car that had its hazard lights on because of mechanical problems, it was raining quite heavily. I suppose what happen was the driver as usual was thinking that this car was moving and not stationery as its usual in MY to switch on hazard lights and still be on the move but found out too late that it was stationery.
