After reading all this it makes me so reluctant to sell my car. Hands down it is the best value for money car anyone can buy with the amount of technology, handling, comfort and status compared to any other car out there. The car will still get jockeyed everytime i pull up to a hotel lobby!

A proud E34 owner here. Test drove a 96 E39 520i single vanos 5 speed auto few weeks ago. Here are my observation:
1. The E39 felt heavier compared to my E34. Reason could be due to smaller engine.
2. It has more refine handling than E34. The car likes to be driven fast. I tried it up to 160kmh before reaching the next toll on highway.
3. It is more "civilized". Of course, a bigger engine E39 should be a different beast althogether.
4. My E34 is old school power house. I could feel the adrenaline rush whenever I floored the pedal on NSE. But the E39 is different. It is also fast but in a more "gentle" way.
5. Oh yeah, both E34 and E39 planted on the road like running on rails. The E34 remains stable up to its limit. The E39 also the same but again, more refine.
I definitely go for 525i if I change to E39. Currently on the lookout for unregistered latest batch E39. If found I may seriously consider move my car reg number to a newer E39(age catching up lah).

I am also looking for a E39 525i. Perhaps you can also look out one for me. This morning, i went to see a local E39 525i (2003) at SS15 United Motors and asking price is RM108K. Milelage 115km and 3 previous owner.
