Notice it says "Individual" at the rear sill....but doesn't look anything like it's Individual....the color for one doesn't say so....hmmmm
ALIAS;562579 said:How come not diamond key ah? Looks too ordinary to be Individual. But seems like good condition. I'd grab this if I were in the market for one.

The car engine vibrate and RPM is below 1 shown in the dashboard. Anyhow I left it for about 30 secs and it goes back to normal condition. Is it normal? From my dad's old Japan car it happens the same way and he always press the peddler to increase the RPM to stabilize the car. Is this 525 happen because of car age? Or due to low fuel? Cause I saw the low fuel light indicator is up
Bro congratulation to u finally settle down with E39.
Idling RPM below 1000 was normal for my E46. For E39 i guess was normal too.

What about this? http://www.mudah.my/BMW+525i+Auto+UK+Spec+Tip+Top+Car-6096599.htm
Claimed as UK spec but not 3 spoke Msport steering? Asking for RM79.8K. With so much accessories and mileage similar to the one I saw. Wondering the 525 I mentioned overprice @ RM90K.
thanks for the input on telling mechanic that I'm the one who paying. How much it cost me to inspect the list herbert mentioned?
Ade;562640 said:The idle condition seems like a worned out VANOS seals. Check the club for the group buy by our dear Herbert. You might want to change that. I had similar issues abeit less vibration during a cold start in the morning after leaving the car for 2 weeks. Changed the seals and everything is good.

I've been sending my car to this mechanic for quite sometime now. Very honest and trustable guy in Penang. Even my friend is satisfied using him. Prices definitely better than Chu Seng (I hate them!!). If u need a contact, PM me. He's located near Gurney Plaza area.

You Have Selected: 03/2000 E39 528i Sedan M52 MYS Right hand drive Automatic
tckhor;562677 said:Your car could be M52TU. Look at the front part of the engine for the vanos to be sure. The website is not completely accurate as I have used it to check a car with a M52TU engine but the result was M52 without the TU.

- Year 2002 local version (as written in Garan), checked VIN number but only http://www.bmw-z1.com/VIN/VINdecode-e.cgi working, the rest like realoem web shared by herbert didn't found any record. weird isn't it? The one I managed to find in http://www.bmw-z1.com/VIN/VINdecode-e.cgi shows production date is Nov 2000, different from garan???, M54 engine and vehicle code is DT44
- Electronic memory seat
- Multi function steering
- Mid display pixel and mileage reading (the one we always reset to track mileage) not display properly
- Mileage near 200K km
- Angel light
- Engine transmission smooth
- Wear and tear interior and exterior
Asking for RM88K. Good buy? The VIN number checking gives me weird feeling
fredphua;563122 said:The VIN number is BR69073
fredphua;563177 said:Thanks herbert.
Comparing this black 525 and the silver UK spec 525 I saw, I feel much more comfortable with UK spec 525 as it has lower mileage and lesse wear and tear to worry about. Furthermore this VIN number really makes me feel uncomfortable since the record can't be retrieved.
fredphua;563413 said:Yes Herbert. Will continue seeking for a better one cause i think RM89-90K I can get a year 2002 525 with MSport spec. Is it realistic?

First, welcome to the forum.
Secondly as a matter of formality, please introduce yourself in the newbie section.
Thirdly this is a BMW club forum and we don't like to compare our beemers with other car (S60).
OK, back to your question on the e39 525i year 2003 that you viewed yesterday. I think I have viewed this car with another Club guest 2 days ago. We have checked the VIN details and the car was actually manufactured in 2002 and registered in 2003. Externally the condition is very good but we did not road test the car hence I cannot say anything about engine, suspension and performance. Take the car to a reliable bmw workshop and have them do a thorough checks. RM93k seems reasonable provided no major problems after checks by workshop.
