I replaced my Accord 2.4 2004 with my e39 525i 2002. So what do you think??

emmm... :) it's clearer now.

My boss got 2004 Accord too.. i don't know if 2008's model is much better than 2004's...

By the way, i saw these in the add:

http://www.carlist.my/listings.php?id=223583

http://www.carlist.my/listings.php?id=224519

perhaps i should give a shot...?

My mission is... within a month from now, i have to have a Bimmer (as agreed my spouse.. :) ).. or ELSE..she will choose herself..which is most probably Accord 2008! Someone please help me..!!!

CKA, i can guarantee that yr spouse will be happy n proud to own a UDM.Its a different feeling.Thats the 1st reaction shown by my wife as she first saw my e39..it must be as good as it looks.....cheers

The second one in the list is NOT a 2003 car, just to let you know if you havent noticed. 523i is a pre-facelift car (pre 2001), a 2003 facelift car should be 525i and from the few photos on there, and I can see that the front grille is pre-facelift so could confirm my suspicion.

Maybe the car was imported used and first registered in Malaysia in 2003. However some also say that Japan spec 2.5 was always badged as 523i but I cant confirm this.

It's the other way round bro....some 523i E39 in Jap are re-badged as 525i.

I would in fact say all Jap 523i are re-badged as 525i for premium price over here.

Not all...i've seen some original 523i from Japan arrived here as it is during my survey. But rare nonetheless.

Hi,

I have the 525i Jap Spec with M54 engine, and is listed as 525i, not 523i. 523i is single vanos, am I correct?

Cheers,
Neoh

Not necessarily single vanos. There are 523i M52B25TU which is double vanos. These are the models that usually gets re-badged to 525i from Japan.

Hi Bimmerholic,

Thanks for the clarification. Good to know. For myself, I checked the VIN to confirm the M54 engine before it came into my ownership.

Cheers,
Neoh
