guys, to be frank, i just fell in love with beemers..fantastic look, superb handling n yet prestigious....no regrets bro..spending some cash to rejuvenate the car is normal, i've been upgrading, e34, e36 n now with e39 523i..its a great feeling..

As Shakespeare once said 'The course of true love did never run smooth. Its better to have loved than lost, than never to have loved at all'.....something like that la guys....does it make u feel better?

I'm collecting my E39 dream in a couple of days time. Me and my wife fell in love with this particular unit that we went to see.

Estimating my first round of maintenance to cost RM10k, paint job RM3k, New tyres RM2k.
Paint job is alright, backside itchy.

The car is gonna spend my 1st week of ownership in the workshop.

I drive an e39 1997 single vanos for the last 5 years and i still didnt had enuf of it. As what the other bro's said.. it had never let me down..when there is a demand...it gives all what you want. No regret .

Hi all, firstly, Selamat Hari Raya to those celebrating. May all of you travel safe in this wonderful raya time.

Just like to voice a little after following the e39 thread for a while.

Recently found a 1 owner AB car, 96, 528i for my dad and had been driving it for quite a fair bit. Really love it and had always love it for a long time but didnt get to own one so far. The drive is really good and nice, not too powerful but adequate for a mid size car i'd say. Handling is very nice, comfortable and confident. Well, everything is stock standard and recently replaced new absorbers in Ingress, even more wonderful now. To me, its a really well built car both design inside out and mechanically as well.

On maintenence, so far after my dad took ownership since May, spent slightly less than RM20k including all services, oil change, and lots more. It seems it will continue as many parts are getting old. All services done by Ingress or Bavaria thus high price. I know there are better options out there just dont have time to research and look up for the place. However i think it is worth to refurbish such a nice car, provided you are ready with a budget allowance to maintain the car after purchasing it.

What can i say....i'd always think that these 90's machines are still very capable compare to many cars today including new BMWs but of course, safety features and performance is victim of modernisation, cant compare directly but at that price today, i think its really no brainer. If one could find a good condition e39, one should acquire and enjoy it. It still have its charm, it still have its power, and it still handles very well.

Regards

bro Eujax, thanx for the wishes..indeed e39 is a very good car. in terms of its maintenance, spending almost 20k on that ride will definitely bring joy n feel a brand new car to the owner..i haven't spent that much on my ride though rejuvenating the car is quite crucial..well done bro n keep loving yr e39..
