I think the management of the SC has to improve. No point blaming it on SA or mechanic while their management is indifferent. What the public can do is to boycott bad services! I am sure among AB, Wearnes, Ingress and Quill, someone wish to have many customers therefore would go the extra mile to give good services.

Maybe we can rank them in this forum. Maybe we BMW owners go to only "the one" who gives good service! That's the only way to get even with arrogances :)

My SA is ok, but what do you say about SA's who doesn't know whats mud flaps.
To top it, she cannot let me know the actual price of it and wheter it is priced as pairs or 4 pieces.
Just to test her, I ask her again for prices 3 weeks later and the price increased $160. (including installation and it takes 6-8 weeks to arrive from Germany)
To cut to the chase, I have contacted BMW Malaysia FB and they somehow pull some strings with dealer. Now my mud flaps will miraculously arrive in 2 weeks time as will my replacement for rusted seats hinges.

This morning noticed this... Really quite disappointed with the quality. I have other cars droven same places everyday didnt even have this problem for a year.

The car just had 1k km and owned for a month..
Any suggestions? My SA already refused anything can be done.
If replace its really waste of money.. What if it happens to the new ones again...

Is this a problem with goodyear rfts?

Thanks bro, i will check with GY 1st.. Made an appointment this friday to send it to inspect izzit manufacturer's defect.

Bro, i am really not sure izzit GY's RFT design faulty or really what..

From my SA, i quote "OH its normal, most likely is hit potholes. For our own cars, we always kena.. if you dont believe u can come over showroom, there are 7 to 8 units of RFT with bulge...."

From my research, alot of RFT by GY seems to develop buldges easily.. alot of F10 owners got such problem after weeks of owning the car, some claimed that its because of the hard sidewall.

But my reasoning is that i understand if hit potholes it will become like this but i am pretty sure i didnt not hit any major ones.. Maybe 1 or 2 small holes which not really direct hit. My question is cant this RM1600 per piece tires be more durable? If 1 hit on any potholes will result in this, then i think this tires is not suitable for KL market or even Msia market.

Just wondering if such case also happened to Bridgestone RFT? anyone care to share?
Have been warn by my SA tht there is a possibility to have this tire bulge if hit potholes at certain speed or condition...ask me to be carefull

It's happens for most tires if hit potholes.

But I don't recall having to hit a huge one or any that would inflict sure bulge.
Well I will leave it to GY technician to inspect.

But quite disappointed. On top of the defects the car had now I have to change a tire which only used for 1k km and less than a month.

Latest update is GY wants my dealer to handle this. So if really to do inspection it has to be initiated by dealer. So now waiting for dealer to come back on this.. Sigh

Dear All,

I face similar problems on GY RFT on 6k millage , when asking GY for claims, GY will just come out with their usual excuse of hitting pot holes.

Even RFT hit on potholes, it wouldn't be so fragile to suffer bulges so fast

Since the buldges, i've change to continental RFT with no problems by paying only RM1300 per piece, its clearly GY's fault with lack of quality.....

I've refer this case to some government department, they commented that usually its so fragile due to that these tyre being kept in shelves for sometime.......

Conclusion: This tire shows you don't have to compromise ride comfort to get extended mobility
Latest Test Rank: 2nd (pending winter test results)
Previous Test Rank: 2nd (September '11 versus a conventional tire)
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP (Run-Flat Ultra High Performance All-Season 245/40R18 (93Y) )

What We'd Improve: Soften the edge of larger impacts a little bit
Conclusion: A performance run-flat tire that can retain its handling without a big sacrifice in ride quality
Latest Test Rank: 1st (pending winter test results)
Previous Test Rank: Not previously tested
Pirelli P Zero Nero All Season Run Flat (Run-Flat Ultra High Performance All-Season 245/40R18 93V)

Conclusion: A new run-flat design that isn't as refined as the best
Latest Test Rank: 4th (pending winter test results)
Previous Test Rank: Not previously tested

Vehicles used:
2012 BMW F30 328i Sedan

Hmmm it's more towards ride comfyness and grips.

I bet they won't dare to take it for a quality and durability test. How many will actually suffer bulge after 1 hit towards pothole at the sidewall.

If amongst the test, all of them develop bulge then I rest my case.

I am interested to know which govt dept told you tires are fragile due to being kept in shelves for sometime.
Mosts people dont realise that there is production date on tires.

I am actually aware of the production date printed on the tires.

When what I see the most relevant govt department will be consumer? Lol

I am no expert in tyres, the guy i refer to in govt is from the domestic trade department, he explain that sometimes these tyre manufacturer can do wonders, since he's assisting me to liaise with GY, no harm listening.

Damn... Actually this is not my 1st problem with bulge tires. My old e46 19" Michelin ps2 always develop such bulge but ofcourse is not so fast compared to this..

Really question the quality of tires. They ain't cheap, tires prices have been increasing all the time.

Low profile tyre I had side wall bulge from hitting pot hole. Ensure proper tyre else prone to side wall damage

Similarly I heard RFT due harder side wall more prone if tyre pressure not optimal. If no hit pot hole or kerb then mfg fault.

Just to update,

The GY tech team ruled out my tires as defect, they spotted a scratch mark on the bulge so it's due to haphazard.
Well nth much I can say...

So those using it have to be extra careful, even a slight impact will cause this as this sidewall is really hard..
