Ingress Auto..

If u r an Official Member here, maybe the Committee can pull some string for u, try knock into some back doors and your Pumpkin Wagon may just appear under your drive way like the Cinderella ferry tales magic.

There are actually benefits if u join Official Member.

Now u r on your own as a consumer versus a profiteer giant corporate entity.

Good luck!

Greetings,
It seems like there is a common problem of 525 engines fails prematurely. Currently, I already have 3 friends' 525 having engine problems. 2 already have them replaced, and the other is pending approval. The symptom is the engine begin to loose engine oil at increasingly rate. 7000km per litre to 3000km per litre of engine. Anyone of you guys share the same problems? My 320 too has engine replaced after just 32000km. Share some thoughts.

Engine Replaced After Just 32000km??Alamak!!

off the record was informed the n52 325i 523i 525i 530i and 730li not liking our high sulphur petrol. the hpi 335i even worst....,..m54 ,diesel models and v8 models seem to cope better. my 2 cents. n53 they dont dare bring it in yet. last year they were planin to bring in 535i .but were havin nightmares wit a few units of e92 335i.

bro keee keee,
why don't you direct your problem directly to BMW AG germany... last time i had problems with bilstein, i mailed directly to bilstein GmbH hq gemany... their responds were very fast, very good.. they were being very helpful.. answering my questions with details and etc.. and finally solved my problem.. i think this is back to the mind set la.. third world dealer, third world mind set..in a third world country, customers are not always right...you just have to live with it...or you can choose to differ..just try send ur email.. u never know how much it'll help..

BMW's tagline ??

funfer_fahrer;320074 said:
Reliability has NEVER been BMW's tagline. I think most of us know that the mantra is "performance, performance, peformance". That's what make the car so special. BMW has their own loyal followers.
What good is performance with constant breakdown ? Interrupted performance is NO performance. Besides, the psychological effect of the trauma is overbearing and any car that performs is a car that goes when you need it. Seen enough of my pals with new/old bms breakdown on the roadside with a demoralized look on their faces and these protons/kancils pass by waving in delight. Sure BMW has its own loyal followers and hard-knocks but this soon will pass if this quality issue is not sorted out.

Lemon Law in the US

leforte;320101 said:
SIGH.. if only they have a "LEMON law" in effect here like in the states. buy a new car, not happy due to all sorts of break-down and such, you have the right to get a new car to replace the lemon you have or a full refund.

check it out
Ya, I doubt if you could squeeze much juice outta the lemon you got ! Getting a replacemnet 'lemon' ? I doubt that since the car's registered to your name and to 'cari makan' what are they supposed to do with a 'dry' lemon ? The likelihood of a NEW lemon is as good as a REL Msian astronaut on another space mission. Given the circumstances bro, make sure they fix the car to your heart content before you throw in the towel. My heartfelt sympathy to you.

For the N52 its known to be a bit more fragile (oil burn issue) in our climate conditions. But the 4 potter 2.0 ltr, thats new. Was yours also burning engine oil to justify the swap?

Greetings,
I have posted my problem before, it was a total engine oil failure after about 12,000 km since last oil changed. The condition of the engine oil was like tar for surfacing road.
http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14514

As the 2 525s of my freinds, they faced engine oil premature burning problem. They have already have their engines changed but one of them on the new engine is still facing the same problem. Another friend's 525 is facing the same problem and pending approval for an engine change too.

From insider information, these are not isolated cases and they say that both BMW AG and BMW Malaysia have not tell them what are the problems. So, I guess I will sell my bimmer after the warranty period. Maybe a Lexus IS250 will be my next car. Enjoy...

Sounds like sludge problems you faced there. A bit unusual for such low mileage. The E90 320i shares the same basic engine as the E46 FL 318i (but with ~7 added ponies). I wasn't aware that this engine had such sludge/oil burn issues as its been around for many years. I wonder if any E46 318i owners had similar issues with the oil burn/sludging issues.

I think many suffer the same and that's why sludge problem is so serious among the E46s, perhaps other UDM too.. During my shopping for E46 months ago.. I discover serious sludge problem in almost all E46 I inspected.

Let me explain why. When I inspected a used car at the dealer, the dealer will voluntarily start up the engine and let the prospect listen to the engine. While I inspect the other part of the car for accidental damage bla..bla..bla.. the engine heats up. Body condition to me, is more important than engine because accidental car I confirm will avoid no matter how good is the engine.

After about 10min, if I satisfy with body, I will move on to the engine. I will off the engine and now inspect the engine. I usually start with opening the oil cap and check for for sludge sign on the reverse side of the oil cap. When I open these E46's oil cap with a heated engine, you will see vapor gushing out like a cattle of boiling hot water. Some E46 are more serious then others. Now what is the chemical content of these vapor? H2O? I don't think so. Its obvious that these are oil vapor and with the cap closed, it will release into an oil catch if there is one, or commonly suck back into the intake manifold and burn along into exhaust during the combustion process.

Mystery of vanishing engine oil... SOLVE!!!

Next mystery, how come the exhaust remain dry? There's an oil catch?

Only the entry level E46 (318i) experience this problem. Not the 325i.

Greetings,
Didn't you insist on a courtesy car? It is part of the sales and service package, although no black & white on this. Thats why we pay more from these so-called 4S dealers than others, eg. Ang Trading. I've new 320 for more than 2 weeks while my car was in the workshop. You should request.

bro keeekeee, you need to SHOUT! Escalate the matter ASAP. If I were you, I will never tolerate much.
