man actually i was thinking for camry and later on only upgrade to bmw ... i think i have learned a expensive lesson :(

after paying 300k plus for the car..it shouldnt have any problems...small issues ok but not a breakdown...should take bmw malaysia to task and also make it known in the press..no owners of a car of this calibre should go through this...it is a real disgrace to the marque for putting out these cars...i would take it to the very higest in BMW and including the press on this issue...absolutely no EXCUSE.....

They should replace your car on the spot and deal with it..if not thay are treating you as a third rate customer...then just go out and buy a proton!!!!!!!!!!

hope BMW Malaysia is reading this...

Bro keeekeee, not wanting to ride on your misfortune, however this incident, amongst many it seem, highlights something. have frens who have the newer model ( e 46 onwrd) and all seem to complaints of problems infact our all companies directors e60 has been in for complete gearbox replacement. am wondering, are these problems related only to CKD models or what ? is it the cars or workmanship during assembly? I feel perhaps as a club , besides the social aspects, this is somthing we can address/ higlighht to BMW, M'sia, Asia etc... is it not part of our responsibility as torch bearer for this marque??
or am i over reacting.....

keekee...just to share my e60 problems that i had faced so far...

1. Active Steering sensor fail (i think within few months)
2. Front Control Arm (both sides replaced by AB)
3. M-Steering Cover - Peeling (replaced by AB)
4. Air Cond cannot turn off even if key is removed - AB replaced the battery negative cable to the chasis ground...
5. Rear shock absorbers (both replaced by AB) - too bouncy
6. rear right power window motor (replaced by AB)
7. Automatic Transmission Problem - Jerking & Juddering (AB replace the oil and reprog) still persist...
8. i-Drive shutdown suddenly without warning...intermittently (AB cannot find fault - say the fail safe circuit cut off the i-Drive when too hot)
9. Air Cond off button gone nuts...when press off it will turn on again automatically...happens intermittently (no solution from AB)
10. clicking noise from front under carriage (no solution from AB - always retightening)
11. cracking sound on dashboard - no solution from AB (its like that)
12. back seat noise (AB put in damping material)

so the way i see it, the problems continue to pop up down the road of the ownership...its my first and last beemer anyway...

bro keeekeee,

really feel sorry for you bro.

Regardless of the price of the car, when you pay for something one expects that the product sold must be free of defects and fit for its intended purpose.

I would strongly urge you to please address this issue to the full extent with SA and BMW. It is totally unacceptable that they do not offer you a replacement car whilst your car is stuck in the workshop.

it also totally unacceptable for a brand new car to break down. there is just no excuse. BMW is not a charitable organization, they sell cars to make money hence they owe to their customers and other stakeholders to ensure that every product that they make is fit for its intended purpose.

the problem is we Asians are so used to the idea that we just have to receive what is given to us.

once again, please assert your rights.

Looks Like The Quality Control For The E60 Model Is Poor, So Many Problems. I Wondering Whether BMW Is Strictly Follow To TS16949 Rules Or Not When Comes To Quality. Or IATF?? How Can A Car Shut It Down Itself In The Middle Of The Road?? This Is Crazy & Could Cause Accident The The Owner, Very Dangerous.

Normally There Are 1 Meter Thick Strict Rules To Follow When Comes To In Automation, Especially BMW, They Should Have FMEA Or DFMEA Before Assemble Or After Assemble The Car, How Come So Many Problems?? Alamak~ I Start Loosing Confiden To The Bimmer Already.......

I Hope Our UDM Wont Become Ultimate "Dulan" Machine!

Better Keep My E39 & Won't Go For E60 In Few Years Time...

Sad to hear all the problems associated with the UDMs. Sometimes I find it unacceptable for the amount of money we pay, we get the performance but NOT reliability and constantly suffer the heartache of sudden breakdowns or malfunctions. Sure makes one lose heart. Wonder how after all these years BMW & Merc are still lagging behind Toyota and Honda when it comes to producing reliable cars :(. Something's not right here

Reliability has NEVER been BMW's tagline. I think most of us know that the mantra is "performance, performance, peformance". That's what make the car so special. BMW has their own loyal followers.

just called them (Friday) they supposed to call me on Wed and reported what's wrong with their damn product but they didnt call me at all. So called just now ... They said they use computer to check and nothing wrong with the fuel pump and nothing wrong with the engine. so will start manual check by tomolo .... man dun know how many weeks it takes :( they at least shd give me a car !! all excuses saying all out and alot on waiting list. man cant believe it ... extremely poor service. i guess this is my first bimmer also the last one ...

Step 1) Talk to the manager in charge. Don't deal with the service advisor.

Step 2) While your car stays in the workshop, insist on courtesy car.

Step 3) Draft an official complain to Sapura and c.c to Wolfgang Schlimme in BMW HQ in Putrajaya. Better still, drive to Putrajaya and talk to Mr. Schlimme himself. See what he can do for you. My good friend had a bad experience with his Merc S Class and he went to complain to Frank Steitleiner of DCM in Menara Telecom. Guess what? He got himself a brand new replacement for his S class. But in the end, he is the proud owner of E66 7 Series! BMW is the way to go. Merc and Japs sucks big time.

The sad thing is for premium luxury range, they all have such issues, except maybe Lexus which is Japanese. So the choices are slim for a reliable premium luxury range car.

Keekee...go straight to Sapura today and demand an answer. It's unacceptable that you paid so much and you get this kinda service, if you can call it service at all. Tell them you have no transport and this has caused inconvenience to you. If everything fails, just ask them to change the damn car, or give me my refund! Sometimes you need to assert your rights. You have given them ample time to respond.

Speak directly to someone at Sapura, don't call them up since they are so useless when it comes to handling phone calls (as they never return your call etc). Something isn't right here.

SIGH.. if only they have a "LEMON law" in effect here like in the states. buy a new car, not happy due to all sorts of break-down and such, you have the right to get a new car to replace the lemon you have or a full refund.

check it out
