t2ribena;320062 said:keekee...just to share my e60 problems that i had faced so far...
1. Active Steering sensor fail (i think within few months)
2. Front Control Arm (both sides replaced by AB)
3. M-Steering Cover - Peeling (replaced by AB)
4. Air Cond cannot turn off even if key is removed - AB replaced the battery negative cable to the chasis ground...
5. Rear shock absorbers (both replaced by AB) - too bouncy
6. rear right power window motor (replaced by AB)
7. Automatic Transmission Problem - Jerking & Juddering (AB replace the oil and reprog) still persist...
8. i-Drive shutdown suddenly without warning...intermittently (AB cannot find fault - say the fail safe circuit cut off the i-Drive when too hot)
9. Air Cond off button gone nuts...when press off it will turn on again automatically...happens intermittently (no solution from AB)
10. clicking noise from front under carriage (no solution from AB - always retightening)
11. cracking sound on dashboard - no solution from AB (its like that)
12. back seat noise (AB put in damping material)
so the way i see it, the problems continue to pop up down the road of the ownership...its my first and last beemer anyway...

Sure makes one lose heart. Wonder how after all these years BMW & Merc are still lagging behind Toyota and Honda when it comes to producing reliable cars . Something's not right here
keeekeee;319828 said:just called them (Friday) they supposed to call me on Wed and reported what's wrong with their damn product but they didnt call me at all. So called just now ... They said they use computer to check and nothing wrong with the fuel pump and nothing wrong with the engine. so will start manual check by tomolo .... man dun know how many weeks it takes they at least shd give me a car !! all excuses saying all out and alot on waiting list. man cant believe it ... extremely poor service. i guess this is my first bimmer also the last one ...

really feel sorry for you bro.
Regardless of the price of the car, when you pay for something one expects that the product sold must be free of defects and fit for its intended purpose.
I would strongly urge you to please address this issue to the full extent with SA and BMW. It is totally unacceptable that they do not offer you a replacement car whilst your car is stuck in the workshop.
it also totally unacceptable for a brand new car to break down. there is just no excuse. BMW is not a charitable organization, they sell cars to make money hence they owe to their customers and other stakeholders to ensure that every product that they make is fit for its intended purpose.
the problem is we Asians are so used to the idea that we just have to receive what is given to us.
once again, please assert your rights.

Step 2) While your car stays in the workshop, insist on courtesy car.
Step 3) Draft an official complain to Sapura and c.c to Wolfgang Schlimme in BMW HQ in Putrajaya. Better still, drive to Putrajaya and talk to Mr. Schlimme himself. See what he can do for you. My good friend had a bad experience with his Merc S Class and he went to complain to Frank Steitleiner of DCM in Menara Telecom. Guess what? He got himself a brand new replacement for his S class. But in the end, he is the proud owner of E66 7 Series! BMW is the way to go. Merc and Japs sucks big time.
