What you did was right. My dad also used to say the same thing. The way look at this matter, the "test" is not on you. But rather is on Sapura. What is their next course of action, being relatively new player in the market as compared to AB? Let's see whether they are able to keep their promise or not. The E60 is the first experimental car from Chris Bangle. It has so many "firsts". Having said this, it has a lot of mysteries. Sorry if I scare you. In the E90 most of the "mysteries" has been solved or rather corrected. They have to get it right for the 3 series because it is their bread and butter, their best seller. Most of the problems in the E60 can be corrected by reprogramming. If this fails, they will reprogram again. In extreme cases, they even changed the whole engine, and if you are lucky enough they should change the car for you. This is the service expected from BMW.

i tot buying a new car at least i dun need to worry within 3yrs ...tot i can happy driving everywhere i wanna go... too bad it isnt :(

Sad to hear all the problems associated with the UDMs. Sometimes I find it unacceptable for the amount of money we pay, we get the performance but NOT reliability and constantly suffer the heartache of sudden breakdowns or malfunctions. Sure makes one lose heart. Wonder how after all these years BMW & Merc are still lagging behind Toyota and Honda when it comes to producing reliable cars :(. Something's not right here

man customers doing the test drive for them alll this while :(

i had similiar problem about 2months ago. my fuel had below 50km radius before i tank up my petrol to full. upon leaving the shell station, within 20meter, my car go off suddenly and i start to scaring myself. but within second.., i engage back my gear to P and re-start the car. luckily its come alive to me and had no problem untill to-date except for sometimes my tv monitor attempt to restart itself (radio also gone) with car running on the road. till now, i never wait wit a tank radius of lesser than 100km b4 i top up the fuel. sigh....wonder wats wrong wit now a days beemer.

yeah actually i always fill up my tank before 99km .... i hate to fill up my tank in the middle of night or outstation... usually fill up full tank one also. :(

just called them (Friday) they supposed to call me on Wed and reported what's wrong with their damn product but they didnt call me at all. So called just now ... They said they use computer to check and nothing wrong with the fuel pump and nothing wrong with the engine. so will start manual check by tomolo .... man dun know how many weeks it takes :( they at least shd give me a car !! all excuses saying all out and alot on waiting list. man cant believe it ... extremely poor service. i guess this is my first bimmer also the last one ...

For warranty car breakdown, Sapura should provide u loan car ma?! Don't have meh? U should at least get an E90 325i ma, they have plenty of Advance Training cars around... cool experience.. :p Then u can share with us if its more syiok than your LCI E60..

Yea it really sux when such a new car breaks down in the middle of the road! Lets hope SA knows what they are doing and compensate you for all this trouble well. You should write a long nasty letter to BMW Malaysia on selling you a premium product which endanger your life and caused so much grief. Maybe they'll send you something nice in the mail to make the pain more forgetable :)

yeah will try to send bmw malaysia a nasty email ... see how it goes later on ...

abt my SA ?? no confident at all. sux big time. promised my bmw tee until now still giving all kinda lame excuses!! already 4months!! no stock??? order M7 ar? damn ....

Sorry to hear of your bad luck. Dissapointed with the problem and the service you're getting... doesn't say much about the car nor the distributor, i say, not only write to BMW M'sia, write to BMW SEA( Regional) HQ, i mean this is a premium investment and cannot expect to be given " the new one like that one " or " must run in 1st " responses ...come one, BMW has spent to much on R&D and they dont call themselve Ultimate Driving Machine..if it can't be driven.....

Just Want To Let You All Know We Shouldn't Wait Untill Our Beemer Petrol Almost Empty Then Only Refill, This Could Cause Major Problems To The Fuel Pump.

We Should Always Keep The Fuel At Least at 1/4 Mark......

Hi Keee Keee:

You are not the only one, let me share you mine:

I just bought my car (recondition) almost 2 weeks ago, guess what, I didn't really get to drive it yet, the WHOLE 2 WEEKS it is in the workshop!

Eventually, when I view this car, there is quite a minor problem here and there, the dealer promise to give me the car once it is all done up;

He promise to give me within 1 weeks, end up registration here and there, delayed to 2 weeks. Finally, he said its done, when I wanted to go and collect the car, there is few things he still haven't repair, I refuse to collect the car; then he beg and beg that he swore in his mother's grave that once I pay my d/payment, he'll recommend me the workshop and they'll unconditionally repair for me.

Guess what is my mistake? I paid him....

Now, here comes the real problem:

1) Engine overheat, suspect to be gasket, waterpump or thermostat.
2) Steering problem, hope it is not active steering.
3) Side mirror broken, disfunction.

Guess what? 2 weeks i've got my car, the workshop he recommended is still "investigating" the issue!!! The Engine too Hot has been repair and repair for more than 3 times, still unresolve... I'm giving the workshop 2 more days to repair, if he fails to do it, i'll send to other workshop, I hope forummers may recommend some good workshop near KL area....

This is my first beemer, and guess how fedup up the situation is!

If i'm sending outside, i'm going to bill the repair cost to the dealer, if he refuse to do so, i'll place his name and his dealer location at the entire forum, hope non of you will be cheated!

So fedup of beemers... Maybe it is just my bad luck...

Sorry if I have address to much, just need somewhere to express my anger :(

not only that, take it up to the consumer tribunal and claim the losses, if any. Also, write in the newspapers too. Or haul up the TV stations....

man feel sorry for myself and u too ... i have waited so many years (save bullet) buying myself a bimmer end up making the wrong decision :(

Man, this are the reasons why I still go for the Camry rather than a Bimmer... I always love the Bimmer, but fellow friends' experiences with their purchases have left pretty daunting doubts on Bimmers' reliability in my mind. I used to drive a Fiat Coupe and that car was superb in its handling... but it almost always have little niggling things to fix every other week. One friend's 7-series was like that too, and I was quite surprised as I thought that it was the high-end car in the margue.

Around town, he uses the 7-series; but when we go outstation, he uses the Odyssey. I thought that it was due to having bigger space for our rest along the way; but he told me that he was afraid that the 7-series may break down mid-way and it's harder to fix for non-authorized workshop, compared to Japanese engines.
