Hi, i just get my bmw 525 2004 japan spec this week. I got a problem now. When i speed up tremendously when car in stagnant(if when moving, no this problem), the "trasmission error' warning appear on screen and reverse is not allow.I can only use 3rd gear to drive. This will dissappear after i restart the car. If i speed up slowly from stop, then no such problem. Do anyone meet this? Please advise. Thanks

u shud get it checked immediately by m-scope or hi-tech recond. do a search on this forum for contacts. b4 u do anything major, try changing your transmission oil first...shud cost about RM1.2k total most workshop can do the job

u are more than welcomed to go and see Freddie..this is not a binding thing,just a bunch of guys with the same aim if replacing our crappy jap-spec idrive to my/euro ones.we can get some discount by having at least 9 cars under a groupbuy deal with Obermaier.

Pardon my ignorance the last time. I finally understand what is the CCC and would like to get it done too.

Auto aggressive banks these days are Public and Affin.

But it really depends how well they think of you and your dealer. Get them comfortable and the rest is purely academic.

No worries :top: my company is very close with Public bank... I just don't know why the bank offered me such a high rate even though we have close relationship with the bank... somemore we apply for 3 car loans at once. I am going to give the officer-in-charge a call and screw him... he he he.

ok this is sort of an faq for the jap spec e60 which i am compiling over here for the benefit of all.

1) do not install the radio fm booster (12/16/20 mhz) - it will affect your remote key in the long run - lose the ability to have chair memory - unable to upgrade the software completely if you are planning to move to the latest version (i think v30.x now)

2) the radio will be something like 70-90mhz and the only proper workaround is to change the whole CCC unit to a UK/MYS spec. Alternatively i was told there is an RF interface to change at the back of the CCC which I have not tried

3) MP3 does not work with jap spec ccc despite upgrading the software to the latest version. You will need to change the CCC to UK/MYS spec to play MP3 on the cd player.

4) jap spec navigation does not work PERIOD. If you want navigation here are your options - change your ccc to uk/mys spec and get the malaysia singapore dvd map for BMW Navi OR attach the ACM Module and connect Garmin GVN 52/53. I prefer the Garmin Navigation over the BMW Navi. This is a matter of preference.

5) The BMW phone does not work as per my understanding. It is only for Japanese phone. Unless you have bluetooth this is forgone conclusion.

6) Under no circumstances that you try to put in a 3rd party system to the i-Drive like those Korean interface that connects to the i-Drive screen, splice the wire to connect amplifier and etc... After much research and horror stories from workshop go down ori path or get the ACM Module. That is the safest bet. Also please connect direct to the battery and not splice any cable. Perhaps our people are not ready to handle such complex systems.

uk spec or jap spec? well at the end of the day it depends on what you want. if you find a good condition uk spec go for it. it is definitely more complete and compatible with malaysia.

Oh my god, Binda!! I've got a Jap 530i, love the drive but the radio drives me nuts. Ive got bad reception even after putting in a booster and can't use navigation. The shop that sold me the car said they could fix all of the above without taking any of the existing hardware out plus dvd player & video reverse for 7k!! Am I being ripped off or is this about what I need to pay to get this right?? regards,

I had been quoted this price for the stuff too... it's the right price depending on the type of DVD Changer and Reverse Camera that they offer... Eclipse brand reverse camera is :top: but DVD... plenty for u to choose from.. Pioneer, Alpine, etc

1. I am new to this group, bought my car about 8 months ago, love it...similar problems with most of you, I can't stand the radio...after reading through the forum, I still don't know how to get the CC conversion.

2. I have seen the name fredie and ober maier pop up a few times, it seems like a reliable guy and a reliable company. In any case it looks like he has install enough system to understand it well. Can somebody please advise, where is freddie and obermaier, how do I contact him and how do I get to his shop.

3. There were suppose to be like 8 or 9 of you guys who plans to change the CCC together. Has this happen yet.
