hello to all sifus and taikor, Its the 525 hi line jap spec 04' a good buy which selling at rm150k ? the car come with m sport body kits and rims, clocking 110km on meter. or i should pay a littler higher and go for the 05' ? pls help and advices. Thankyou so much. Hans.

Reasonable price for high mile of that age. But check if it have been involved in accident before, that could also be a factor why it is cheap.

Thankyou crymson, u think that price is cheap ? i deal with direct owner, he upgraded to vellfire. i am thinking.

For a 525i, i think that's cheap. Coz i've been surveying 520i and 530d, and the price for 520i and 530i/d are below 150k now. And 525i are usually above 160k.

i think better look for some lower mileage car bro..unless you really know the owner so can know how he maintain the car.

110k km for a 2004 sounds logical to me, if not on the low side. in my opinion 25k/40k km for a 6-7 year old car sounds dodgy and most likely the meter has been tampered.

I dont travel much, but even then I clocked about 6-7k km in the last 3 months.

advisable to take newer car since u do not want the hanky panky problem in the near future. bear in mind...already 6 yrs old car d...Good luck bro

Thankyou for all the replies, actaully, I love the M-sport 530 06' unregister, asking rm238k... its just like a new car... but dont want to spend so much a car.. rm150-160k is good for me... anyway, thankyou and i will keep hunting...

But you have to remember bro, if you get those car around 6 years old and high mileage, theres a lot wear and tear part to replace.in my opinion better get newer car unregistered with lower mileage so you dont have to spend on wear and tear part later on..

Agree... will consider about it after meeting all the sifus in firday tt....are you coming?

why dealer sell higher price for newer car??? lower pricing for high mileage car will definitely cost u a BOMB very soon...bear in mind, NO installment for cost of repair !!!
Happy Chinese New Year & Happy Hunting...Gong xi fa cai to all...

few tips to share for buying recon or AP cars:
My mech used to work for Meng Heng, he told me that all dealers will do the following when they got their AP cars:
1. Tamper the meter, very easy to do..
2. cut the safety belt label (white label) attached at the bottom of the belt. The label show the year of manufactured.
3. Check the steering especially the top part, if botak already compared to other parts of the steering, meaning the car is used for quite a long while, so obviously the mileage is high liao lo..so don't trust the meter..but it is good for you to tell your friend that u get a very good deal given the meter is still very low..sometimes u have to lie to yourself to make you feel better...hehehe..
I've seen a real recon AP car, it is really damn new especially the engine, but of course the price is not cheap lo..

Side note: I would not consider going from BMW 525 to Toyota Vellfire as "upgrade", even though car value is higher :)

Best to take it to mech and get a 3rd party opinion. For year manufactured, you can tell from the diagnostic machine, so can't bluff. Besides, other items in and around the engine will also be able to give the date, unless they took the bother to change all those parts.

Agree agree, wonder the price drop a bit... really love the M sport version. Thankyou bro Hakim for the advices..

I think meter tampering is common with car dealers in Malaysia. Most of them are not very honest and just wanted to make money. I read somewhere that there is a way to find out the original mileage using the key - is this true?

hello aoch88, can we know where is the " somewhere" that u got from? intrested to find out too.
