This scanner only can used V1.4 version. As I mentioned earlier, not proven yet that it can "talk" to E30 or E36.

I have the advance version 2.0 (for e90) and it cant talk to the E46. sad really.

I'm hoping it could.also have anyone tried it on Vista?

The FTDI website I provide earlier have driver for Win 7 so Vista also have lar. Other older drivers for Window 2000 also have lar.

Note: When you installed the program and the driver, you will most probably get this message when you start the program
the first time. This is normal. You need to plug into the diagnostic port to get it to run properly.

This is because the scanner need the 12VDC supply in order to work.

Jackie, this message is for you.

Based on our telecon, you can install the win7 driver for one laptop but not the other.
I think you cannot install in the other laptop is because the laptop is not register or log in as administrator mode.

Log in as administrator first and see what happen.

as for the hardware error, this is because you are not plugged in to the car diagnostic port yet.
