tweiboon has help me today to go to used car and did the scanning on my UDM candidate!

followings are the screenshoot of errors found - sorry low quality, was using cameraphone to capture.

1. DME - 5 errors

2. EGS - 1 error

3. IKE - 1 error (red)!

those were the errors found...need advise whether those are critical or not.

1st photo:

First three errors are O2 sensors. 2 pre-cats and 1 post cat kaput. About RM350 each although you really only need to change the pre-cat ones.

4th error not sure

5th error as it says la probably...exhaust flap..

2nd and 3rd photo:

It is actually the same error, the temperature sensor under the front driver side bumper kaput/missing.

I think as a buyer, you buy the car in good faith that the car is in good condition.
If they seller did not inform you of the existing problem or fail to disclose it, then it should be reasonable
to ask him to make good the defect.

But anyway, the problem are minor. Maybe ask for a small discount as a goodwill gesture from the seller.
So far, your problem is only electronic sensors. You have to allocate some funds for the mechanical parts.

You should check out the other threads in the forum under E46 but offhand.

1. cooling system - radiator, expansion tank, thermostat, hoses and plastic pipe.
2. bushings - engine mounting, gearbox mounting, control arm etc.

The above are the usual wear and tear parts.
