For me, buying cars is more to fulfill my driving pleasure...with that amount of money (VW GTi price)...I will go for used E46 325i SMG for working and hiway flat out...and fully tune used EK9 or Integra or AE86 or Evo3 for SIC track day!...yahooo! :canabis:

Wifey is about to get the Swift anytime...still having doubts but not comparing wt GTi or Coop S. Just back from the Suzuki showroom. 1 word, VALUE FOR MONEY....

i think the Polo GTi would be a better and a much closer comparison to the Swift Sport..the Golf GTi and the MCS is a bit too far removed in the price department.

i'd go for the Polo GTi if i was looking for a small runabout that i can take to the track on the weekends..its much more tuneable,plus its also a manual thus making it a more involving drive.eventho the Swift Sport also comes in manual guise,note that the Swift has got closer stacked gearing making highway driving a buzzy experience and can be pretty tiresome.

the Polo GTi is urs for the princely sum of rm139,800.00..note tho that it only comes in 5sp manual guise and cloth seats with 'tartan effect' ala Golf GTi.its got a 4cyl 1.8t 20v with 150bhp,easily tuneable to 198bhp with just an ECU remap.i would love to have this car,if only i had the extra cash.this is indeed a sleeper/giant slayer personified..

there is also a non-GTi version called the CrossPolo.comes with a funky sporty SUV-look do-over,it also comes with 17" BBS alloys as standard.engine is a 1.6 with 105bhp connected to a 6sp auto..urs for rm125,800.00..

u mean there's a Polo 1.4TSi?? now THAT would be SOMETHING!!!!!! but somehow i doubt the current gen Polo will come with the TSi.the engine will be reserved for the new gen Polo that's due out in 2009,complete with DSG.

if they price it well next year,i'll be in line for one...200bhp and 270+Nms is no joke on a small car,fantastic.
