Perhaps the committee can enlighten us on this? When we organize a gathering/TT/meet up and its more than 10 cars, do we need to obtain a permit? I believe so otherwise it will be an illegal gathering right?Rgds

I dun think it's illegal if the meet up is at restaurants, cafe, pubs, mamak etc. or you hold a private function in a hotel.

It's no different to a dinner with family or friends. You don't apply for police permit when you are having a dinner with more than 5 people, rite? Same with weddings and annual dinners.

its a 50/50 situation actually...
depends on their mood but if i'mnot mistaken as long as the club gathering isnt rowdy and misbehave thn its normally ok...

it will be classified as an illegal gathering if the gathering is in a open public area whereby the gathering may be deemed as an illegal gathering due to the fact the tht gathering brings no benefit at all to the group etc...

but in convoys usually its better to inform the traffic div of ur intentions to hava convoy etc....thn a letter of permission or acknowledgement will be issued...

hope this helps....

Most meetings or gathering point will be at carparks, then how?

Alex1111, can u check out the convoy part?

got police kacau u all punya tt?kuching chap?lemme know.,can kaw-team kaw kaw punya..

tyke,
u mean technically we should get police acknowledgement for a convoy?...hmm....anyone can confirm this...we are all law abiding citizens who wants to have some fun with friends whatt... :D

Wow...tis will be fun. When in convoy, are we allowed to exceed the speed limit? :yahoo:

Checked....

According to the Traffic Police guys (the Station near Petaling Street, KL) for a "convoy" of more than 5 cars, it is "advisable" to get a "permit" which takes ONE day to sort out.

Technically, yes, but then, where's the fun in that?
wher's the fun? u hv to take it up with the police lo! :D

I guess if the nature of our TT or meet did not touch anything on the politics, religion & race ..I can say we are pretty safe in tht bracket...to get a permit for convoy will be a safe bet but 1 day to process... :beaten:

for those goin for the ipoh drive... dont fret... the permit will b taken care of by a responsible dude (hv to buy him makan ok)..

all convoys shld do the same lo... we all law abiding rakyat ma.

Karate...you da MAN! who the man! You da mAN!...who the botak...I the botak! :D
