Read about the above subject somewhere in this forum but couldn't find it. So, decided to post a new one.....

With the recent fixed of my OBC, managed to read the fuel consumption in an accurate manner. Average consumption for my E34 M20B25 city ride is around 12.5L/100km. Highway is around 10.5L/100km.

How about yours??

Mine, 520i. Last Friday; Pumped RM50 (Esso) = 400km with average speed 120km/h on Lebuhraya Pantai Timur. Balik Kuala T'ganu. Fill another RM20 and can go up to 150km. Last time my Waja was about RM50-60 FC to reach KT. I think it's okey. Well at least i'm driving an ultimate driving machine... :)

For highway is normaly u will get the good FC for 520. The problem is for town drive.......

My FC is really bad, so bad that I'm afraid to drive my E34. RM90 for 400km, mainly on the highway (85% at least) based on my last trip back to my hometown in Batu Pahat last weekend. :beaten:

Any ideas what's wrong with my car? I use 235/45/17 which I think eats up all the power - can it be due to the wide tyres? Btw, it's a 2.5l 24v non-vanos engine, manual.

Lionel,
What do you have to help improve FC? Pray tell.

Will be checking my fuel filter and spark plugs this weekend to see if it improves my FC.

I do mostly highway driving, and one thing I noticed is that when I pump it to full tank 80 litres, I only get around 560 KM, where else if I pump around 30litres, I get around 350km from it.. Have stopped filling it up ever since...

It may be that I'm imagining the better FC by not filling up, and would like to hear from you all if you experience the same phenomena.

BTW, this happens for me regardless of which brand of petrol.

For my 525 E60, I get pretty good mileage as compared to my 3.0L Harrier.

Highways (drive to SG), a full tank RM90+ (Normal green Shell not V-Power cos' I don't find any difference other than pay more!) gets me like 600+km. But I was a good citizen and kept within the law most of the time! That translate to around 30-32mpg.

In the city the same full tank gets me around 450+km or around 18-20mpg. Not to bad, right??

The only reason is if u pump full tank, u car weight will increase n the touqe will reduce n FC will increase as well.

For a big car as E60,that FC is OK.

i oso get like 45 km rm10....damn!

2.5L -rm80 only 370 to 380...auto....

but my 3.5L.....can get like rm80 can get 480 to 500km....

but its know that the 3.5L gives better comsumption than the M20 engines!..

true?....thats what i gathered!

Hi all,

Pump again yesterday. Manage to squeeze 382KM out from RM86.66 (some out of town driving)

My boss told me this is OK cause his E46 318 (2.0cc) can do 400km for RM80.

I thought blown should be held with the consumption!!!
