If the existing one suck, then it would be better to remove it and fit the SMD LED angel in its place.

However, I have never open a depo headlight before nor try to remove the ring. I have done it before for a Hella E36 with angel eyes many many moon ago.

sir jarance ...any other colours other than white ??

what colour do you want?

Normally super bright LED comes in white and blue.

Tradition LED comes in green, red, yellow, blue, orange.

I know there are also compound led which have multiple colour in ONE LED. you can get idividual colour by powering up each wire or change the colour with powering 2 or 3 wires at the same time.

but I think white is the only colour available. Just like ford car. You can have any colour as long it is black.

4th silly Q :- Jln pasar , jln pudu punya compatible ?? same colour ?? same size ??

bro, what problem are you facing?

it would better to take out the rings and bring to the shop. Show it to them and they be able to find an equivalent for you.

just make sure that it is the ultrabright type. Normal LED are 1.5 V but ultrabright are 4.5 V but they can be test with a 3V battery. When I buy the LED, the shop will usually light it up with a 3V battery.

Yes I think it does. see picture below.

looks like it...kinda worry its like those CCFLs where the inner ring is smaller than the high beam and looks awkard. Any issues in getting a diameter measurement from the supplier?

All DIYer are welcome.. buy or dont buy does not matter. This thread is for group buy. Since some of the interested party are not too good with hands, we help out a bit.

End of the day, we want everybody to go back happy and make some new friends as well.

Of course, some of you may prefer to ask professional installer to do it..

yeah, I would have thought so cos the front cover of the E46 is replaceable.

bump for the day.. :motz:

jarance,

Any idea if u can get the dimensions for the inner ring for the high beam?

The ring size for the low beam (halogen or xenon) for e46 is different right?

As mentioned earlier in the first post, E46 will be supplied with 2 big rings and 2 small rings. I do not know what is the exact dimension but I have installed it in my E46 and they fit quiet nicely.

The smaller rings are installed for the high beam.
