I used to own an AP recond car (BMW E60) and my friend owns a BMW specialist workshop. What your friend say is true and most recond cars would have issues ranging from petty ones to major problems (if you're unlucky). That is why I decided to go with an authorised dealer car when I bought my F10 as it comes with warranty and maintenance free. If budget is a concern, you can obviously consider used or recond car but please put aside some money to get things fixed. You will never know what surprises you may get :)

Yeah.....if get used o record must have saving bit more for future spending....
If common issue ok if relating to engine n gearbox that big issue.....

It can also be a string of small/medium issues. For my E60, I had IBS sensor, battery, engine cover vent, MAF sensor, injector, high pressure fuel pump, etc. I'm not alone, my family had few AP cars back then, all came with shit here & there :d

Need save more then....hahaha
I think buying local used cars are probably a better choice. At least you have a proper service record with what has been replaced.

Labour, reset gearbox and gearbox oil (BMW) RM500

Mileage 110k km.
Next up front axle arms and bushings, around 4-5 months from now.
Was refering to this

As part of my routine preventive maintenance plan for the car, and since my mileage reached 90k, decided to refresh the AFT oil. Nothing wrong with the GB, which is still smooth and fine. And i hv still not changed my ATF oil since i got the car last year. Approx 30k km of mileage since ownership. It was time then

Thiis how the ATF oil is when it was drained. Look how murky it is, a mixture of oil and iron particle fm the gearing. The pan filter has magnets which attract the iron particle/residue, and they were covered wholly like a biscuit covered with sloppy peanutbutter. Years of hard labor i guess. (sorry forgot to take pictures of the used pan filter).

The mechatronic or watchamacallit thingie. Drained and cleaned. Looks new aint it?

The new pan filter from ZF The cleaning magnets are now placed in a square compared to the old ones which are only at the top. Notice the QR code etched onto the pan, with Feb 2017 as the manufacturing date.

In all, 5lit. of transmission fluid from ZF were used.

Update 27/5
Ori ZF ATF pan filter rm350
Ori ZF ATF fluid 5 liters rm400
Labor rm100

Should be less than rm1k.....I'll update when i get the bill tmrw. GB felt smoother than before, cant really tell when does the gear change happen (but I guess i was trying very hard to notice/'listen' to the gear shifts). Just to be clear, I'm doing this as part of preventive maintenance. GB has no issues, but since there was a low gear jerkiness on cold start this morning, decided to change. Other then the murky AFT oil, everything seems fine so far. Did it at BlueGreen.

wow....old oil looks really bad for 90k kms of usage.so this would have to the benchmark for ATF refresh.

looks more like 180k km usage.

So much for "life long" no change necessary claims. I never believe in such representations. Everything in a car needs maintenance or replacements

Hi guys, I was recently serviced the car at ingress, found the CBS of rear brake pad due prolong from 5k to 20k. Was it manually adjusted by SC? My current mileage at 85k, not have the chance to claim FOC yet. Anyone experience it?

My low beam bulb blew up. Original was Osram D1S bulb, decided to change to the same brand. Got it for RM280 excl. GST. A 10min job to replace.
