Oil and filter change at Ingress recently costs me RM484.55 including GST. Looks like it is well worth it to return to the dealer to do this
Yes, with workmanship n GST added in, the slight difference will sway ur decision where to do an oil change.

That's very reasonably priced. It definitely makes sense to do this at the dealership than specialist workshops.

beemerback, a quick question. ur f10 is 6-potter right?

Means there wld be difference in the volume of engine oil used then. 4potters use 5liters(?) of engine oil vs 6.5liters for 6potters.

Thought BMW Msia gave you a complimentary lubricant oil change from any of it's authorised dealers? I utilised the said complimentary from BMW M'sia at Ingress Puchong last week and was given free oil filter, labor charge and 20 points check.

I havent utilised it yet. Mine was a non-scheduled oil change. I change the oils every 5k kms of travel. Will use (the vouchers) for my next oil change. Most probably just before this year's Siam Merdeka Drive!

5.5l Ravenol 10w 40 (semi-s) - RM192.50 (35/ltr)
Labour - RM30

just did oil change at my regular workshop in Feb, now awaiting dealer to call for the FOC oil change offered by BMW.

Bro Gendong,

Is the complimentary oil & oil Filter change with 20 point check complimentary for F10s or accross the other range as well? Any conditions? Recond units qualify?

I am not sure. I received a letter from BMW Malaysia on the offer earlier this year. Not sure of other T&C being applied.

Which area are you from?

Very early in the morning, as i was about to send my kids to school, this happened. There were no loss of power, no terrible judder of the engine. Upon driving, it felt ok, but at times, engine seems to be a little hesitant.

So, went through the day Uber-ing. Later in the afternoon, only had the chance for a check-up, and the result was this:

Apparently, the rail pressure sensor (its behind the engine, with a bunch of other sensors/wires) was broken in 2, and dislodged from its place. the exposed contact point came into contact with the engine (or perhaps any metal for that matter), causing a short circuit that:
1. lighted up the CEL - Drivetrain error
2. reset the time in the car

And since my engine cover is already opened and exposing my engine head, decided to change the vent hose, as it was causing air to leak from the engine as sometimes, there's a high pitched shrieking can be heard upon restarting the engine.

The well-past-its-time vent hose, all wrapped up by the previous owner

Taken out, all brittle

The new vent hose

New vent hose fitted nicely

Total damage this round, excluding GST:
Rail pressure sensor RM 300
Vent hose RM 250
Diagnose & labour RM 200

If ur asking about the rail pressure sensor, it seldom happens. I dont know how it broke in the first place. For other sensors, some are changed as part of a procedure i.e. Brake sensor etc. other than that, it's merely a wear n tear item. To be changed periodically or when it fails.

I used to own an AP recond car (BMW E60) and my friend owns a BMW specialist workshop. What your friend say is true and most recond cars would have issues ranging from petty ones to major problems (if you're unlucky). That is why I decided to go with an authorised dealer car when I bought my F10 as it comes with warranty and maintenance free. If budget is a concern, you can obviously consider used or recond car but please put aside some money to get things fixed. You will never know what surprises you may get :)
