Hi folks!Need an impartial (haha, as if I can get that here!) opinion on the F10 520d vs the Audi A6 2.0. Was really happy with the 520d, especially with what you get for the price, until I viewed the A6 at Audi Glenmarie and fell in love with the interior. Going onto Google and YouTube for "5 series vs A6" didn't help either: there were many positive reviews for the A6, and just as many for the F10.Any opinions from F10 drivers or other folks making the same decision? My opinions so far:price: RM333k vs RM345k : TIE, no real difference hereWarranty: 3-year BSRI vs 2-year warranty : BMWDiesel vs Petrol: Trying to test drive both back-to-back before decidingTotal cost of ownership / resale value: No idea, presuming they won't be very far apart? : TIEInterior: Love both, but the A6 is so much cooler especially if I pay to upgrade to the real natural wood grain trims and the higher spec leather seats that are standard on the 3.0 : AUDIExterior: Love the Audi front especially the DRLs. So much cooler than the F10. Prefer the BMW rear and sides though. : TIE"Support": Not really a huge factor, but awesome to have BMW Club Malaysia and so much "poison" here LOL. Club Audi Malaysia doesn't even have a single thread on the A6! : BMWBack seats / comfort : Important because half the time my driver will be driving it. The A6 wins here with the quad-zone aircon and IMHO cooler interior again : AUDIAlso to throw in a "bonus" question: Isn't the RM170k Peugeot 508 incredible value for what you get? Should I get that as my daily drive, and save the RM163k to upgrade my Mk5 Golf GTI to a F30 / used 335i Coupe / used 6-series / used Cayman and use that at nights/weekends? :)

The BMW is a driver's car-if you are going backseating, then get the Audi A6 would probably be a comfier place and cushier ride. I believe the A6 also has Internal WiFi, so you can chat with us forummers here on the forum...hee hee.

Regarding the upgrade, I feel it's aways better to get a new car. Unless you are a pro when it comes to hunting for mechanic shops in Chan Sow Lin, Ara Damansara, Sunway etc. If it had to be my weekend ride, it would be the Cayman S.-now with Porsche 5 years warranty and free servicing!

Daily ride? Get the F30/Audi a6.

Err, lemme play the evil devil's advocate. Car to be driven in - the 520d or the A6 is not the way to go, bro ... the F02, or E66 (long wheel base 7'er), now THAT's what we're talking about hehehehe :)

Way out of my budget F02. Saw some discussions about e66 730Li on this forum for 200k. Almost kena poisoned haha, but concerned about long term running costs and depreciation. Might be cheaper TCO to buy a f10?

Follow your heart...:). Both are equally good cars; if I had to choose, A6 would get my vote just because I followed my heart.

How long is the waiting list? Heard that the 520D has a long waiting list?

Anyone know the current wait time for the 523i, 520D and A6 ? Peugeot 508 dont even have a car for test drive - The later RR Evoque is 6 months waiting.

Now you know why parallel grey importers are making big bucks on low spec cars..

Hi nerraw,

Not long ago Audi A6 2.0 TFSI was on my consideration list as well along with 523i and 520d. Maybe I was a bit unfair to Audi because I didn't even give it a test drive before I eliminated it from my shortlist (I like BMW styling more). After some intensive research in the internet especially in the esteemed BMW Club forum and two rounds of test drives, I paid my booking for a 520d. However since you said you will be driven most of the time, I can't really relate my experience to you as our priorities are different. But, it so happens that my brother owns a 2012 Audi A6 3.0 TFSI Quattro and I have been driven in the backseat in a few occasions. Frankly, I wouldn't use "comfortable" to describe my feeling of sitting at the backseat. The headroom and legroom are not something to shout about (same to 520d's, I guess). However, A6 does have air-cond vent at the B-pillar and this could be a plus point for you.

If you go for A6, don't forget to add the optional LED headlamps (RM13k). I think it's supercool!

What is Ipoh TS, bro?

The BMW dealer in Ipoh, Tian Siang. Ipoh Is a bad market for bimmers so plenty of ready stock of most models.

A6 3.0 is worth considering but A6 2.0 equipment list is threadbare... at least in Singapore. I test drove the A6 2.8 and 2.0 after PML initial refusal of my overtrade offer. Both doesn't have GPS, hard drive or reverse cam... only 7" screen. LED highlights options is 4-5 mths wait. Try as I want to accept Audi's offer for A6... price was 15k cheaper than BMW 523i with mtm chip up throw in... I still couldn't accept their offer. Both cars are CVT... making the drive seems smooth but somewhat detach and artificial... no feeling. I preferred the 2.8 drive but didn't want to pay the higher road tax.

Few days later, PML accepted my overtrade offer... big relieve... I felt I was settling for 2nd best if I was to take up Audi.

Audi's standard price come only with base car, right? need to pay extra if u wish to add more features...extra features are not cheap though.
