Adding my 2 sen to this thread...

Managed to test the 520i -- comparing that against my 2011 520d.

520i sounds and drives slightly more refined. It's quieter both inside and outside. Drive is smooth when compared to my 2011 520d. (Perhaps it's the 2012 COMFORT+ setting or my driving style? My 520d tends to pull back a little if I let go of the pedal during low speeds.)

Acceleration on the 520i is good -- but left me wanting just a little more. Revs and pulls smoothly all the way to 6/7k, but lack that lower/mid end kick compared to 520d. It's still good though. Have to rev to enjoy it.

520i is suitable for ferrying people around and relaxed driving.
520d is more fun and feels a little livelier in the city.

You can't go wrong with either. For me, no regrets getting the 520d

This is my first BMW so I hope all the BMW gurus here will help me with the questions I might have regarding the F10. My first question, is the initial fuel consumption shown in the on-board computer of 35l/100km normal? The fuel tank is quarter full.

Remember not to follow BMW service schedule fully during and after BSRI period.
They recommend to change engine oil every 20000km.

Due to our hot and humid climate.
Change engine oil between BMW recommeded service schedule. On every 10000km or max 1 year at your own cost.
Change ATF every 40000km.

Above have been posted various time on this forum and other international forum.

Cheers

I am doing oil change every 5-8K depending on my usage.
Preventive maintainence is cruicial

Running on Liquid Molly.

COMFORT+ is simply a renamed version of our COMFORT

Our COMFORT has become COMFORT+
Our NORMAL has become COMFORT

There is no longer the word NORMAL used in the controls.

I spoke with a BMW engineer in Munich, he says they renamed it because of the very "normal" meaning of the word NORMAL, NORMAL is comfortable, why not call it COMFORT, who wants drive a "NORMAL" BMW... every BMW is exceptional :p

yea, it's Chip express. They claim that they can ship the kit worldwide and it's sort of plug and play type of device, which should be relatively easy to install into the 520d.

yes and reasonable priced other running house which i enquire like ACS and the rest it cost like 1 ~ 2k euro for the ecu.
but will try never it as my car warranty still in place maybe after 2 year .

The problem is whether the gearbox can take the torque or not... because it is quite some amount of increase... not much of info on that...

hi all,

does 520i comes with full comfort access? 520d?

wonder y 523i doesnt equipped with it for a premium car costs almost 400k?

tq

520D haha.... 523i haha.... 520i haha.... 528i haha....

very insulting, right ? for a premium car costs more than 300k, still lack of this "basic" feature.........

I chosen diesel. Added features are non essential and/or useless. If you are ok with diesel engine sound, and a bit of diesel smell, diesel is the choice. Actually, it's fast and powerful. Much nicer than 520i

Porsche 911 991 2012, RM 900k (from), also no comfort access wah? Is it really that big a deal?

To me... I go for diesel is because of its torque and hee hee less trip to petrol station. Engine noise, nope from inside...

now my car still under BSRI and 2 year bmw warranty i am not "allowed" to tamper the car ECU or anything if i did BMW will void my warranty.
after 2 year no more warranty and i am paying from my own pocket that time maybe i mod.

now only do minor mod first maybe rims

F10 got Powerkit for Auto and Manual already...so F10 520d win
