F10 520d vs 523i

actually with extra mileage a diesel car can do, any increase is acceptable but not too exorbitant

For me i like the garang sound of the 6 cylinder engine .. diesel got good fc but i pick the 6 cylinder engine anyday.

The 520d sound is very garang too. Not the normal diesel taxi sound but a low base solid sound without any hint of the noisy tappet noise that you get in most other diesels. But the 6 cylinders 530d best la

Hehehe ... bro DJH, to each his own mah. Just because I found the E89 to be of an older tech. generation cf the newer F designation, doesn't make the Z4 a lesser ride in anyway *respect* hehe.

But, over at www.bimmerpost.com, there was a similar discussion about a potential buyer eyeing to buy either the new F13 or the older E72 X6. LINK IS HERE. The same argument against the X6 came up - older styled dash board gauges, prev. generation idrive NAV, lack of LED coronas etc.

And, over here in Singapore, the Z4 sdrive35is retails for $316,000 (basically, with all options thrown in, but minus adaptive headlights), and the 640i coupe retails for $355,800 (base model) - but, comes extra with reverse camera, Head Up Display, extended internet connectivity with GPS Nav, full LED lights with adaptive headlights and highbeam assist, active anti roll stability, dynamic drive, dynamic damper, back window privacy screen.

For only about $40,000 more, I get the latest generation BMW flagship coupe model. The Z4 is also down by 2 seats

The additional options I ticked were the Park Assist (parallel parking), surround view (top view, side view + reverse view + PDC - yes, I'm lousy at parking, you already know that) and full comfort seats (the new generation ones - even better than my F02's comfort seats!). That more or less bumped the asking for the 640i to $370,000, and add in 20" M-sport 373M double spoke light alloy rims & the obligatory M-sport body kit, that brings the price up to about $385,000. But, at least these are options available for the 640i coupe - I couldn't get the camera option fitted to the Z4 even if I wanted to, not to mention comfort seats!

Ever since I driving my 520d, guess what, I already lost my freedom to go out tt silently at night. Cause once I started the engine, my kids will come look for me.

For sneaking out quietly, only The Prius comes to mind.
