the rubber gasket just give way and air no longer sucked through the microfilter. aircond not so cold as air from the engine bay is sucked directly

here's my maintenance list for today

Mobil 1 5-50 4liter x 2 = RM400
Oil Filter = RM35
Internal brake hoses x 2 = RM110
Showa Dot 4 Brake fluid 2 liters = RM70

Labour for changing double vanos seals, resetting/readjust the camshafts, timing calibration, timing chain adjustments, normal full car preventive maintenance and checking: RM350

Labour for changing my brake lines to goodridge, bleeding, readjusting brakes: RM150

Seems a bit expensive on the brake lines labour.....but overall, the service is good....

cheap for double vanos replacement and other services but not for the brake lines. brake lines replacement can get less than half of what you paid. as long as you're happy than it's fine. hehe.

your labour for changing brake lines is very expensive. i only paid 1/3 of your price for changing and bleeding.

btw, can i know which mechanic you went ? the showa dot 4 is kinda expensive you get.

this is my regular mech.......

the Showa Dot 4 i saw at eunos is about rm33 per liter....
so i guess rm70 for 2 liters was ok..how much u getting it for?

bro...huskar.....agreed....d last time i changed my other car brake lines....the most expensive labour I paid was 80bucks...

i think the mech just split the labour charge.....if look at overall...its RM500 labour for changing all those stuffs....

yup....most of the time the stock finish....I heard Tesco are bringing those lube via SG. The packing is similar to SG or export type packaging.
Not sure if there is any difference between the two.....

my regular spare parts guys also don't sell that cheap.....normally the price is about RM190 to RM200 for 4 liter pack...

bro....ini engine oil LEVEL sensor......

for lo instrument cluster, the oil can icon will illuminate amber if oil level is lo.it's a dual function light.lo oil pressure will light up red.

for hi instrument cluster, the message OIL LEVEL LOW will appear in the MID....

Hi Moots,

Mine is the M52TU and I am pretty sure this sensor also reads the oil temperature. I clean it and the temperature reading improve a bit but still very fluctuative so I was contemplating weather to change it. Never tried the oil low level function since we already have the dip stick. Will try the next oil change.

bro.....this is news to me.ref above pic,for m54,part # 13 is the oil temp sensor and #12 is the oil pressure switch.both are located on the oil filter housing.on my m52 there is only the oil pressure switch.only the m5 has the oil temp gauge on the instrument cluster.the rest, the oil temp has to be read by unlocking the obc.also on the m5 forums, they are saying that the oil level and oil temp sensor are dual purpose and are the same unit.i have not tried reading the temp gauge thru the obc.i shall try this today and report back.

There is the engine oil temp reading on the high cluster, but it requires some coding to enable it. Currently the option is there but there is no reading

True.
My high cluster oil temp reads:OEL TEMP:----

So what coding does it need to enable this?I am curios too.

Moots,

Done this couple of years back but I only have one connector (M52TU) into the housing so could be the oil level sensor giving signal for oil temp. Reading fluctuates a lot from the cluster display. Guess the older model does not have sensor #13.
