Haven't got time to get measurement and come up with the drawing... been busy lately...

Hope you can spare some time on this bro. Sourcing this over the web is costly, and I believe customizing it would be cheaper. Thanks Haywire for the pic sample.

I know that E60 has the underside fully covered during my extensive E60 search and examnination. Wondering if we can fit/mod from the E60 to fit the E39.
Would be much cheaper if that is doable.

E39 has 4 pieces all together: front, center, left and right, consider full covered too.

yes all E60s are fully covered from under the rear seat all the way to the front bumper. One of the E60 I looked at even had a rat den with full family and nursery inside.

Smelled horrible!:24:

Good news guys, I might be able to get one original cover cheap. Probably can be used for the template. I'll see how it goes and will keep you guys updated.

Where from Haywire?

Just curious, with the plate cover fitted, would this retain more heat in the engine bay? If yes, is that good? how else would the heat escape if covered all the way?

From my new favourite chop shop

That's probably why it was not included in our cars here?

More heat trapped isn't a good thing is it?? Especially for rubber/plastic components under the hood?

Pulling out from this GB guys.
Sorry.

Mr Lim,

Count me in for the group buy...btw, i agree with Fab.. it would be a bit expensive if the material were to be made from alu... any other alternatives?...

if you see the sample pic, you can see cut out scope that guide air in to cool the GB (i think). It also has a heatshield, not sure what for, maybe to stop the plate from melting.

Hot air goes up.and since it isn't covered up completely, the heat will still get dissipated.

You've been there la.

ahh i see..

How's the service and parts galore like? He is very friendly and cheerful guy.

..except that now the used p/w mechanism fails again and he is looking for another one.
Been waiting for over 2 weeks now..sigh..

So far have everything I needed for quite cheap. Yesterday just got myself a new-ish (looks like never been fitted) sport driver side undertray for RM250, which normally goes RM450 upwards if I were to buy it at a spare parts shop.

The guy was friendly and let me have the harness and plugs for my DIY projects for free.

Sorry guys, false alarm.

The chop shop got a different part than the one we're looking for. The search goes on.

Anyway if anyone is looking for any E39 parts, go to MK Autoparts in an industrial area infront of Jusco Kepong. He's got many many E39 halfcut there, and many more disassembled parts around the shop. Price is reasonable. Engine and exhaust also got. Many underbody plastics parts available. Some new, some used all for good prices.

Got a pair of E39 wiper nozzle for RM50 last week at MK. Around RM120 each if new.

I save my current side bottom covers by DIY the aluminum supporter to hold the cover, save me RM500 to replace the new one.

I found out the side bottom covers actually are not really big and if we make the whole piece in aluminum also not really expensive.
