Actually i got the idea from oversea forum which they custom made the plate. They had the group buy too.

Great initiative. I'm all for the group buy if there's any! I'll keep my eyes open on any future E39 that has her bottom exposed.

I wonder why this undercover coating wasn't installed when it left the factory when the car was new. There must be a reason and I doubt it was because of cost. Perhaps without the cover, ventilation is better??

Bro 7833 I guess one of the many many ways is to drop a mail/PM to those people you found in other forums and enquire further. Or even get the dimensions.

Just checked with one of my friends' '97 E39 528i, also didn't have this piece when he got his ride 3 years ago.

The skid plate has non linear shape which hard to get the dimension, unless we have a sample here.

Went to a shop chop this evening, there was a 528i Japan front cut hanging in of the towers. Took a look at the upskirt....no skid plate whatsoever! Only the front cover directly under the oil sump.

Maybe I can help to come up with a mockup...
But the M5 plate in the photo is big.. Cost would be high if done according to that using Aluminum.

Since Mr.Lim here has given a rough dimension of 70 x 100 cm, why not custom make it to follow the under carriage if we cant get the exact one.

Price is GBP118.09 without postage from schmiedmann.com, postage is another GBP40.

Its RM570 for the skid plate and another RM200 for delivery.
