Damn my car just dead halfway just now under the HOT sun. Call the carrier and they only able to come to pick up tomolo.

Try my luck to start over and over, the car RPM just not stable but car still able to move. Drive 15km back slowly.

Fuel pump or crank sensor?

Sorry to hear that bro. This is always the "adventure" of driving a BMW. both physically enjoying the pleasure and mentally "stressed" wondering when the beast will break down without notice!.

bmw7833,

Most likely are your cam-shaft sensors. Digitalpunk had similar problems.

cam-shalf sensor = crank sensor? Are they the same thing?

For your info, I used the scanner (from gb) to scan, but found no any major error related to the problem.

Am i right?

Who know how much their cost in BA?

Item #8 is crankshaft sensor:

Item #18 is camshaft sensor:

Camshaft & crankshaft sensors are 2 diff things. 1 each for single vanos engine and 2 each for double vanos engine. It will detect on diagnostic if fail.
Its good to change if you have no history of them.

The ride sure feels tight and composed, cant stop grinning everytime I drive it now. The steering, handling and braking feels very different than before the replacement. Thats only about 65-70% of the job, I need to finish installing the new rear absorbers after raya. Didnt have enough time the other day.

bro you may be encountering a vacuum leak.check all your air hoses.a torn ccv diaphragm will cause rough idle since the scan did not fault anything major....

may i suggest we open up a new thread under a diff topic as we are now in the parts and maint cost

i bought from BA RM320. how much is the OEM?

I changed these today at Bomin Jln Ipoh. Just for precaution mainly I replaced the radiator hoses, expansion tank and power steering hoses and tank filter housing.
I also changed all 2 big rubber engine and 2 small gearbox mountings. Plus 2 front lower arms and long shaft rubber bushing.

Here's the parts breakdown:
Lower arm Lemforder RM380x2 = RM760
P/Steering hose RM125
P/Steering return hose RM175
P/steering filter and tank combi RM85 (OEM?)
Rad Hose clamp RM24
Top Rad Hose RM185
Bottom Rad Hose RM165
Rad expansion tank RM280
Long shaft rubber bush RM165
Engine mounting RM330 (2 big ones)
Gbox mounting RM119 (2 small ones)
Labour RM380
GRAND TOTAL RM2772

Not sure if the prices quoted are normal but I believe they are ok as Bomin is recommended by many members here notably haywire.

Also found out the wiper washer hose from the tank broke and leaking hence no water for the windscreen. Luckily found a halfcut shop at Kepong. He also advertised at Mudah. Please look for MK parts.
The place is like a treasure hole for E39s! So he yanked 1 spare hose complete with the motor from a dead UK e39 and charged me RM50 and i fitted it at a nearby tyre shop for RM25. Reason bcause I have to remove the front right wheel to access the washer tank where the hose connects. A 20min job.
I also bought from MK the rear left side power window mechanism as mine is kaput for RM350. I will install it after Raya.

He even checked his computer that he gave me the right parts based on my VIN. He has a database of part numbers in his laptop.
Highly recommended!

BTW he has also instrument clusters both MPH and KMH from the UK and Japan. I wonder whether those are plug and play with all the pixels working.

Before I went to bomin, I also went to AB Segambut to check parts needed and they quoted me for the whole suspension parts rubber bushes, absorbers, arms etc came to a whopping RM18k!!!

Things I need to change in the not too distant future are all the 4 absorbers and fix the dead pixels on the instrument cluster and radio.
