I think the sensor is number 10 as above. The mechanic said sensor, but it could be just a sender unit to send the signal from the thermostat.

It seems that it is a wiring connector to the thermostat housing. In my layman humble opinion, I think we can reuse the thermostat housing provided we can replace a correct gasket / sealant to it. But I think they don't sell the gasket alone instead they sell the whole unit to make more money.

That is what i thought which the housing is in pretty condition.

Got sensor in thermostat meh?

For M52, the thermostat is not electrically controlled. But for M52TU, M54 is electrically controlled.

About the M52 thermostat housing, did you find out if we could use aluminium housing instead of the plastic one?

Yes. We can get the alu housing for RM140 shipped. But housing is hard to kaput one, so not need to go for alu i reckon. Bavarian Auto selling the ori one for RM100, so can save RM40 here.

That is my question in previous post. Normally mechanic will replace them together.

Correctamundo. My thermostat was Ok, the housing was Ok, only the gasket was flat and leaking. No choice but the replace the whole thing, cant exactly use rubber bands to seal it back hehe

Rear control arm pair 570
Rear upper arm pair 660
half of used long sharp 800
velocity joint 165
universal joint 950
ignition coil (4) 800
plug(6) 120

Bro, my first bill was almost 2*scary than yours, as it includes replacement of many other wear & tear parts, but after that whatever replaced/fixed/done up never bothered me until today, 3 years and counting.

Car was 4.5 years old when I took it.

By the way, do you mind sharing which workshop you went to?

Read your story before, beside that, any good suggestion for other workshop?

Why not? I heard a lot of good comments for WP Auto, Optimum & BlueGreen..May be u can try them.

Replaced both sides of my front upper arm yesterday at Bomin Auto (again)

TRW front upper arm RM260 x 2 = RM 520

Labour charges: RM80

Total RM600

Also I saw a few more joints needed replacing, it was ok when I inspected it when it arrived here. Perhaps the Malaysian weather has finally caught up with my car..

One front absorber is leaking liquid, its M-sport suspension so means money $$$$.

Bro, i thought u only wanted to replace the bushing?

I got racunned to change the whole thing hahaha

I took back the old arm though, the ball joints looks OK. Is it worth anything? Otherwise it will sit on top of my cupboard until my wife finds out and throw it away..

I got used E39 suspension, bought from a chop shop in KL. Stated on the absorber are "SACHS" then smaller font "BOGE". Also got this number (i believe part number, but can't seems to find in realoem.com), 31. 31 - 1 093 644. Made in Germany. Is it M-Sport suspension?

The taukey said it is M-Sport suspension. Confused...
