did a normal service of changing oil and filter for rm500. car is more responsive after the service.

RM7,700 done on my E39 within 2 weeks after getting it. (to be fair, includes changing M-sports kit + full repaint). tomorrow sending to "CAR's" for detailing @ RM230 package price. (signed package about RM2,300 for 10 times), prepare another RM1,600 for LLumar tinting thereafter, and budget another RM2,800 to change no plate (including tender price), while considering installing the Head unit another 2k+.

if 5 years ago will go crazy if spend money like this!

Rm7700 is not much considering the price are including kits and paint.

U sure enjoying the car now.

If i remember correctly, it cost me about rm600 for the recond unit with the labour..i don't know the brand new price..

just paid the bill for my E46 M54 too at 1050, now, my E39 also making some noise.

If it's noisy, it has to be the alternator bearing. You can just replace the bearing.

Further replacement of my cooling system (expansion tank burst while in Pekan, Pahang on a Sunday, damn. Temporary fix by two part epoxy Araldite and continued the journey back to KL last night. Changed these at Bomin Auto this afternoon:

Expansion tank (original Behr, BMW logo scratched off): RM200
Radiator cap original BMW: RM50
Hose clip: RM8

Workmanship: RM80

Total RM338.

Haywire,

I must say that the spare parts prices from Bomin Auto is very reasonable. I was charged RM295.00 (excluding labor) for similar expansion tank by WP Auto.

Everytime I need to buy parts I will ring Bavarian Auto, Suan Huat and then Bomin (in that order) just to compare the prices. So far nobody has better price than Bomin in my experience, even if there is, the guy at the counter is willing to match the price. Furthermore they have their own workshop next door, or can even deliver to you/your workshop. So Bomin Auto comes highly recommended by me.

Do we really need to replace the housing and thermostat together when there is a leak sign along the thermostat housing gasket?

Everything actually comes in one part unlike the older models

So bro, what is your exactly meant for? Can not catch your ball la..

Haiya you always play ball ka? I dont play ball..kaki bangku maa...

Anyway the thermostat and sensor comes together with the thermostat housing in one unit, cannot buy separately. Thats what I paid RM150 for.

I think the sensor is number 10 as above. The mechanic said sensor, but it could be just a sender unit to send the signal from the thermostat.
