I got some rattling noise. Probably from drive shaft coupling. Anyone know what's the price and how long to replace that ?

Guys, lately my car has been making sound whenever passing thru uneven roads, and the steering also lost the firm feel of it.

What happened? my wild guess are:-

1) Steering rack
2) Absorber bush (lower arm?)
3) Worn spring

Advice appreciated!

using the e36 nozzle. the e39 original nozzle is expensive coz it comes with heater. Did at Optimum.

I use Castrol SAF-XJ 75W/140(if i am not mistaken...left the bill at home). Actually it is recommended to replace the oil every two years especially if you experience any noise. So i just follow the routine.

I found an article saying the benefit of changing the oil:

1)Excellent high temperature, high load performance
Maximum protection against wear and noise even at continuous high temperatures, loads and speeds

2)Shear stable
Extremely shear stable, ensuring that its excellent properties are retained over very long service periods

3)Reduced operating temperature
Under high loads and severe conditions it can reduce axle temperatures which increase life of gears, bearings and seals

4)Low friction
Improved axle efficiency offering potential fuel economy improvements

Anyone can advise on changing rear diff oil? Do you guys do it?

I'd check the lower arms, tie-rod ends and anti-roll bar links. Most likely tie-rod ends.

Changed rear power window unit RM350. Central locking actuator RM100. Both from used part shop. doesn't include labor.

Was told by a mechanic today its quite a tedious job. Alternator and everything from the side needs to come out. He quoted me RM100 for the labour though.

A no brainer, but just would like to confirm that the oil will need to be changed together when doing this?
