2) Expansion tank (BMW) RM265
Labour RM100

Previous radiator was also BEHR, made in South Africa & lasted only 2 years & 70+k km ... crap ! The current BEHR doesn't say where it's made but at 1/3 the price of BMW-stamped ones, I decided to take the risk again ...

RM 900 appeared slightly high as you could get the radiator for RM 680. Labour should be about RM 100?

Yes, we need to "invest some time" to do "shopping" to get the best deal. Buy the parts yourself and get your regular mechanic to fix them!

Sometime the shop offer you 6 months warranty as they have better relationship with the supplier, so even though slightly higher but you can claim back. You own cost > RM680+100 = RM780 while most shop will charge RM850-950, so I will let them charge slightly more to have the 6 months warranty. The choice is yours.

Replaced cracked thermostat ... the BEHR ones don't last. Only 65K km & 2 years ... :motz: Also replaced water pump as preventive maintenance.

1) Thermostat (BEHR) : RM190
2) Water pump (BMW) : RM450
3) Coolant : RM30
Labor : RM50

For E39 that juz past d 5th yr, rem to change fuel pump. My fuel pump juz fail 3 days ago. Hav to tow workshop @ 11pm.

My E39 is celebrating its 6th birthday in a month time & mileage is 123k.

changed my fuel pump which I bought in SG recently, together with the fuel filter as insurance.
mine's a 2001. Found out my 5er still on ori pump before changing.

I changed my fuel filter 7 mths ago but not fuel pump. Ur fuel pump damn solid. According to my mechanic, ori fuel pump can tahan @ least 5 yrs.

Also check valve cover gasket. B4 change, top up 0.5L engine oil. 1 mth later, hilang.
