I've been reading through this thread to compare prices (not from the 1st page because maybe the price is different for 2011..) and notice that some of the bills are high on certain things, but some of it were not, or even lower..
and since i just own my very 1st UDM
i've sent my E36 328i 97' for service/checking at 1 of the bengkel in bangi..
so, here's my 1st bill :
1. Idle bearing : RM130
2. Tensioner Bearing : RM240 (2units)
3. Fan Belt : RM110
4. Aircond belt : RM70
5. Spare tank : RM198
6. Coolant : RM22
Labour : RM120.00
TOTAL : RM890.00
Above is just a part of all the repairs that i need to do (based on mech advise..) the rest is still in the quotation. here's the list
1. Steering Boot : RM84 (2units : RM42/pc)
2. Oil sump gasket : RM50
3. Oil Filter HSH Gasket : RM42 (i wonder what the 'HSH' stands for..)
4. Flywheel oil seal : RM120
5. Gear lever bush oil seal : RM50
6. Ventilation Valve : RM480
7. Power steering Hose (tank to pump) RM220
8. Engine mounting : RM460 (2units : RM230/pc)
9. Gearbox mounting : RM116 (2units : RM58/pc)
10. Lower arm
- short ball joint : RM260 (2units : RM130/pc)
- long ball joint : RM240 (2units : RM120/pc)
- bush : RM140 (2units : RM70/pc)
11. Link rod : RM240 (2units : RM120/pc)
12. Brake Pad (front) : RM220
13. Valve cover gasket : RM130

- do i really need to change/service/repair all (1-17)?
- if not necessary, which one will be the most important thing that needs to be changed?
- are the price stated is too pricey or so-so..? how about the labour charges, is it too expensive?
- if its too pricey (labour or parts), is there any other reliable workshop with a cheaper price? and is it possible just to ask them for quotation (because maybe some of the workshop will not layan especially its ur 1st time going there..)
- or is it possible to do a few parts at the workshop, and another part at other workshop? will it be more wasting time and money (double labour charge)
hope all sifus can chip in some ideas n advise regarding this matter.
