E36 318i Thinking To Buy

Dear All UDM Fans,I have a friend whose Father In Law has just passed away. He owned a E36 318 Selangor plate BEF ****. Unfortunately for my friend, he cannot continue to pay the monthly installment (balance of 4 years) for the car so he's asking whether I'm interested in 'sambung bayar'.Need some advice on the following -i) What should be the market value of the Beemer assuming it's registered in 1994 (not sure yet as haven't seen the reg card)? The installments is about RM800 per month x 48 months = RM38k. ii) If I were to take over the car what should I be expecting initially i.e the typical repairs that need to be done to bring the car up to road worthy level. Not thinking of any modification / beautification yet first. If can, pls provide pointers of things I should check on when I view / test the car next week.iii) What should be the petrol consumption level to be expected. Currently my driving mileage is about 30,000km per year.iv) What is the monthly set aside amount for the car maintenance (including typical scenarios of wear & tear replacement). Of course worst case scenario can be a lot but I reckon should be able to set aside around RM500 per month for the car.v) Ultimately the most important question - should I just let it go and find a better deal out there?That's all I can thing of for now.
