Your mthly installment will be below 1k on that 40++k e36. Below are facts:

1. Wear & tear, can't avoid. There will be some major s*it setting u back around 1k per change.

2. Though major parts are costly, they last d#mn long!

3. Major expensive parts are:
i) Radiator+exp tank
ii) Fuel pump
iii) Idle Control Valve
iv) Suspensions
v) Air-con compressor & cooling coils

These are the list in my mind now as I'd went thru it. Trust me, u'll need to endure a 10++ yr car. My idea, new car is always better than 2nd hands! It's ur choice....

my advise is to buy a udm , but make sure you get a good one
cant compare a waja and a udm . for satisfaction i think udm will give you that . ... anyway get to know more about udm first .

but from where you are coming from, can say that 70%of your will is to buy a udm . if is that .. just do it .......

How bout safety and comfortable?
Pity our friend some says buy some says don't. I use to get the same remarks the day I open my mouth when I want a BM eight years back, well dare or not think to yourself if you like it and willing to throw money with a smile go for it but I earn much more then tu saja and had throw more then 25k on changes to my car, still happy to spend to make it feels new all the time even its an e30 and always at standard stock no modification. There are more to be done.

Well take your time sit and think you dare to venture jangan susah kan diri sendiri sudah. Good luck. to me BMW is still BMW not any others.
sorry kacau daun friends.

How much is the interest rate for 1994 318i. My friend bought a 94 318i last February and the Southern charge him 8% interest. He bought from a used car dealer.

But his monthly instalment would be less if the purchase price for the 318i is lower than the new Waja. The savings from the instalments could perhaps be used for maintaining/repairing the 318i?
Monthly instalment need not necessarily be less cos loan period will be shorter. That could be a blessing in disguise cos can pay off faster!

8% is very steep for last year! I got 2.99% last July. Now I dunno

Phone the banks & ask....so many out there. Survey every each & corner. Equip with much knowledge possible. Or join us in TT for more info!

I think anything more than 10 yrs will be quite difficult to loan and if dapat, will be at 8-10% interest p.a.! That is one consideration over buying a new car! Or 1 under 10 yrs old.

Have you considered the Naza Bestari?

Last july. How long u loan it. What is the max year.
10 yr old bimmer still can command a interest rate of 3.6 to 4.2 percent.

How bout the max year I can loan. I'm about to BMW right now. Still considering.
Got mine for 3% last year, was given 7yr loan but opted for 5yrs.

Mine is a 318i, 1995.

Hi faredar.

I had a similar situation to you at the beginning of the year. I had like 60k to blow on a car and was thinking of a 1.6 Gen2, 56k if I'm not mistaken. Close to your Waja. And like you, I got 'lubang' in which a e36 325 became available to me, and in pretty good condition too. That was before the new NAP announcement and udms of that model were going around for like 60k. I had it offered for 50k, though the cost of restoring it is from my own shallow pockets. Original M3 bodykit + low spoiler, 17", 6 pots....and I used to drive a 10 year old Wira so I'm like

Spent many a sleepless night over it, and like you I'm saving up for my marriage soon. My income is a little more than yours but not that significant. So a week after the day to decide on which I wanted, I uploaded my new car as my avatar.

I think, if you want a beemer you will go for it anyway.

However, unless your income level does not improve drastically, you will come to regret it.

Check through the maintenance threads, many members spend 5/6k a year just to keep an E36 in good condition. If you want to upgrade anything, it is much more expensive than Proton or Japanese cars. The monthly instalment is the least of your problem.

When the time comes to sell it off, you will be facing serious problem unless you keep it in really, really tip top condition - and that cost a lot of money and effort.

My suggestion,

If you are willing to spend a lot of time and effort maintaining, repairing the car yourself and willing to keep it past the loan duration, then go ahead.

Otherwise, as someone has remarked, if you really want a Beemer, save some money first and then later buy a newer version - preferably less than 8 yrs old. You'll save a lot of money on interest rate alone and later much easier to resell.

I'm not thinking of resell it. Maybe own it till last like E30 nowadays.
bro.. then get an e30.. but still it will cost u much to maintaine then having a jap car or a proton...anyway it's ur choice bro.. good luck

Whats your interest..
If u do like BMW.. theres a lot of cheaper model with easier maintenance such as e30. U buy it with its condition and spend to built as u want and take the challenge and u learn to know your car and u will luv your car as much as u luv your self. Dont go for higher model which is with higher maintenance unless u have extra money nothing to spend.

If u thinking about maintenance, about warranty, and u have to wait for warranty parts.. and start talking about quality and about people say u r driving new car and yet u have to pay for 9 years... Go ahead with all kind of brand and model in the market nowadays...
