i thought there is one this coming sunday?
The normal track days organised by Sepang are
OPEN TRACK DAYS.. Anyone who pays the track fee can get to run their cars there for that session, normal 3 hours. I have been to these OPEN TRACK DAYS, the sunday sessions are pretty scary for newbies as there are track prep race cars, tuned Hondas, Wiralutions, EVOs and Scoobys etc. There are no rules, which you can overtaken by faster cars anywhere on the track including the corners. I have no problems with open track days as I have been there and would be more cautious of the surrounding cars but for a newcomer to track driving, it can be taunting as he/she are still learning the lines thru the corners and suddenly some fast 4WD zoom past u on the outside line.
HPC organises
CLOSED track sessions with instructors for
Grp 1 participants. U would be assigned an instructor for the day to guide you on the proper driving habits and, of course, the 'basic' correct lines to take. And there are other groups depending on your level of
track driving skills and knowledge. Passing rules are in place for different groups. Group 1 has the most passing restrictions, passing is only allowed on the straights. There are more details on HPC in the website..
I hope you're clearer on why is HPC different.
