Comparing VW Golf GTI and BMW 116i

I am looking forward comparing new vehicle for my wife...
among 2 model that I think I am pretty interested.....
1. BMW 116i
2. Volkswagen Golf Gti 2.0

My first option, in fact is Golf Gti.. but somehow I am kind of worry over the DSG issued.. somehow the sales man from VW.. told me that the problem/issued had solved.. therefore new model will have no problem with DSG>.. any comment about it..

In this comparison, a sensible choice would be to go for Golf GTI as it offers the better value for the performance, space and quality that you are getting. However, we all know that consumers don't always act sensibly and sometimes class and perception are above all. So it's up to you at the end of the day. A all rounder performer or a classy ride.

Do not worry about the DSG gearbox on the Golf GTI. It is NOT the same as the DSG gearbox faced by the other VW owners.

The DSG gearbox on the Golf GTI is a 6-speed wet clutch DSG gearbox DQ250

The problematic gearbox found on the Jetta, Golf 1.4, Polo 1.2, Polo GTI, Scirocco 1.4, Cross Touran is the 7-speed DRY clutch DSG gearbox DQ200.

Honestly, I would go for the Golf GTI Mk7 purely because I weigh performance a lot more and I know the Mk7 is an amazing car with the new MQB platform which makes it 100kg lighter and the XDS+ electronic differential which allows the power to be transferred up to 100% from left to right especially at corners.

Nah, don't think you have too much to worry about DSG. After switching from synthetic oil to mineral, it's been so far so good.
