Just tested the tuned up WALD 240hp GTI at their Chan Sau Lin showrooon, the increase in hp is noticeable from lower gear, once it's on the move the difference is not so obvious. I floored the throttle when exiting a U turn, the front lost traction a bit & I could see some lights flashing between the dials (must be the ESP lights).............and yes the "blooping" noise is still when upshifting! :yahoo:

AL

Not yet, the "loud-talking-know-nothing" salesman has not confirmed the price, still waiting.

BTW, the 240 hp GTI I've tested this morning was used as a pace car in the a track event in SIC last Sat........as informed by the salesman or course. It has lots of loud stickers on it.

Does the GTi comes with LSD? Or are they just relying on electronics to keep the wheelspin in check?

240hp on the front wheels......would be fun to see it in the rain! I expect lots of front wheel spinning but little forward motion - dunno how much traction control can help in this regard! ( cos front tyre grip is still the MAIN equation here )

I found a December 2004 issue of Autocar - comparison test new Golf GTi v RenaultSport Megane 225 v Honda Civic Type R.

Golf GTi is the winner. In fact, it will be hard to find any review that says the Golf GTi is bad!

Aiyah, the Kookaburra One is enough to play with for now. Still need to put roll cage in the yellow bird lah - first time the cage is in the bird, not the bird in the cage

On the move not so obvious because of really flat torque curve ma....but I'm sure it pulls smoothly and FAST..... buy buy buy

WJ, next track day old school Alfa GTV Bertone vs old school Kookaburra Toyota?

Pssssst......Superchip has already the chip for the 2.0FSI! :D
Additional 40bhp & 60nm torque.

Yupppp...even for the Audi 1.8T, the superchip will give and increase of 30hp (or is it 40hp)!! :nyehehe: :D

With the chip, this car should have enough ponies to play with the Mini Cooper S?? :nyehehe: :nyehehe:
