i don't think that 320d is faster than my 325i. IT may be torquey but has no top end power

You are right but where are you gonna get to open up your throttle in Klang Valley, let alone get two cars driving pedal to the metal to actually prove who's top end is far superior??

The current 320d is 0.3s slower than the 325 for 0-100km/h
The current 320d is 0.4s slower than the 325 for 0-1000m sprint

With this numbers they are negligible.

But with the upgraded version of the BMW 320d the numbers are staggering.
Acceleration : 0-100km/h improved by 0.5sec to 7.6secs (faster than 325i sports), 80-120km/h in 5th gear a whole second faster.

Don;t take my word for it. Go to a BMW showroom and ask for a test drive. I too was initially skeptical but I am a convert. With the spare $$ from buying the diesel there is many more upgrade you can make after the warranty has expired.

I do however admit the lacking of the idrive though. I've seen the 316d in the European market and they even possess the idrive. Guess we're a more forgiving lot who won;t set fire to BMW HQ for shortselling us. Ha Ha!!

325i on paper is still 9kph faster than 320d.

In real life application, 325i is just playing catch up most of the time because 0-200kph sprint, the turbo diesel has the torque advantage.

Both are great cars but only engineered differently. End of the day, the driver who has the bigger balls or better skills win. :D

The 320d isn't even on the above list of 3 cars vs each other put up by omegaman.
But it's such a beautiful car that everybody wants to discuss about it!!!
Yeah, with the new specs, it blows the 325i away!
Like our official Committee member amd Treasurer, astroboy ,himself says, the 325i will always play catch up with the new 320d. Sentiments aside, it's a fact.

Wheres the thread starter? MIA already..or probably end up buying a GTR-35 can tapao whatsoever BMW on the road after reading final part of this thread..:D

Oh My ...! Sorry guys for being OT.

Back to the topic:
Most of the time, the person who ask the question would have made up his mind which car he wants. Asking the question is more about validating his decision. Probably he is now busy enjoying his brand new car!:top:

Aiyaa.. come to our Annual Dinner in your best evening suit, I will arrange you all to sit on the same table and chit chat the topic out in a gentlemen style. Drinks on the house! COME! :top:

CC's drive feel is no better than a Camry, loose, light, and totally no feedback to the driver. If you just want a comfy car with an occasional pick up on the straights or traffic stop. CC is a good investment. 5 years unlimited mileage warranty, drive with peace of mind. Something that a BMW can't match.

Meanwhile, CHONGMIC, please head over to our newbie section to give us a customary intro of yourself so we can know u better. That's what friends do.

hehe... our E90 also not appealing to many.. yours cost so much and still no iDrive.. Mine pay so much and still lose to Kia Forte 2.0L in terms of pick up and top speed.. :p :D

Let's agree to disagree and move on! to 2010 Annual Dinner! :D :D

It could be a tad quicker than your 320d tho.. Embarrassing to be shown the backside of the paralysed lemur in a race :).

If you wanna try something different, Audi Quattro is your choice....try to feel it...
