bro,

7.3s v 6.1s is not close la.....

even as compared C200 8.5s with Passat CC 7.8s, i could feel CC is a lot quicker

Of course 320d can beat 328 , if from 0 to 80, or from 0 to 900 (alorsetar to jb) coz 328 have to stop to fill up petrol and 320d dont need to, hehe. Anyway in between that 328 wins

Just heard that the price of 320i is a shade under RM 240k and launching sometime in Oct 12.

wow....y does BMW suddenly lower their price ?? hardly believe, what is their intention?

The the pricing expectation is right, then my guess is that they are trying very hard to push sales considering the fact that sales has dropped quite a bit from Europe, couple with the fact that Audi has been aggressively rolling out pretty interesting models of late and eating into BMW's market share

u have your points !:top:

I'm not surprised considering the head on competition with the A4 1.8T which is going for RM233k. Anyways, the 320i is a great buy. I love the engine. Even detuned, it's got great mid-range grunt, economy and is a smooth operator. It's faster than the E90 325i after all.

so is it possible for 320i tune to match with 328i since they are sharing the same engine? is the sport transmission in 328i much more superior than those normal 8speeds transmission which is found in 320i and 320d(beside having shift paddle)? what is the differents?

thanks

If i got my facts right its going to have around 180hp with 270NM torque which accelerate to 100km/h in 7.3s. Top speed they claim can hit 235km/h

Talking about stock to stock comparision i dont think it can be faster then any E90 325's

Yup, with abt 20% more hp, E90 325 is clearly faster.

But for town driving, F30 320i may be at least as agile. While both hav similar max torque, F30 320i gets there much earlier and stays there longer with a peak torque band of between 1250-4800rpm. Without the benefit of forced induction, E90 325i has a smoother torque line that peaks between 2400-4200rpm.

So comparing the two, bang for buck wld be F30 320i with chip tuning. Evolution is a beautiful thing..*:burnout:

I feel its still a good bargain for 240k.. spend bit more on tuning and the car is already above average on its class..let see if bmw comes out with the performance chip soon as i dont think authorised dealers will cover warranty on aftermarket tuning kits

There is no difference in hardware and gear ratio. It can handle up to 450Nm of torque. If u r kiasu enuf to chip it beyond that, upgrade to ZF-8P70 as used by E70 and F01.. :burnout:

but based on paper, 320i stock 0-100km/h is 7.5s whereas 325i is 7.8s or 7.6s (i forgot), so u still dont think it can be faster than E90 325i(not top speed, i meant)??:39:

wow...can handle up to 450nm !

since it is no hardware n gear ratio different, y does it being named as SPORT transmission in 328i?

I believe the 320i and the 320d has the same transmission software where it does not have the "sports +" mode.
Only the 335i and 328i has the "sports +" mode.

correction... the 320D has the "Sports +" mode too.

That is weird, a friend has a 320d (CBU) and he says it does not have the "sports +" option. Well, my bad.

Thanks again for all the posts and info. Recently I've been transferred to jakarta and as agogo has pointed out, in Jakarta, BMW will only have sports or luxury version. Initially launched in aug will be the 335i, and in October will be the 320i. Test drive the 335 last week and it was an exciting xp, speeding down sudirman rd at more than 160 kmh( note there is a number of police post so we couldn't go faster) and slamming the break to hit 0. But I can never afford a 335.

The price of a BMW 320i in jkt is roughly 10% cheaper(idr 680mil) than kl price (myr248k).

My question is, given the bells and whistles that come with the car could potentially be different btwn kl n jkt, I m wonder if anyone in kl could help provides more insights into the accessories that come with 320i in kl so We could do apple to apple comparison.

In indo, 680mio is the sport version with sport seat, 8.8inch LCD with navigation, ipphone app, 17inch wheels (no sun roof), 8 speakers, 2 yr warranty, 5 yr service package.

Is this the same as the 320i in kl?
